3.0 out of 5 stars The writing quality is not as good as that found in the 2013 edition 19 March 2015
By M. L. Kimmey - Published on Amazon.com

The writing quality is not as good as that found in the 2013 edition. The stories are also a good deal darker than in the previous volume, representing a more dystopian outlook across the board. Neither of these criticisms should be received as reasons not to read this volume, just don't expect last year's performance.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like the format 3 November 2014

I like the format, which allows for a variety of reading nibbles without having to read longer formats in a single sitting. It gave me a taste of several authors which were new to me, and left me wanting to read more of their work. If you're looking for a quick taste of unfamiliar writers' work, give this a read.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love the perspective... 31 October 2014

...these authors bring. I don't read much science fiction any more. But I did enjoy this collection. I guess I am interested in the extrapolation. Taking a snapshot of our modern day and thinking forward. It's fun to see the possible outcomes of our current trajectory. Even if they are bleak.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very well written for a tough segment 14 October 2014
By Clyde - Published on Amazon.com

Based on near future SciFi, it's not the completely different that most of SciFi is. That means it took some very creative writing by all the authors to get just enough future but still keep it close to now AND make it interesting. Most of them did it very well. Highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars glimpse into possible futures 7 January 2015

Really liked this collection of shorts. All being more or less near future makes them even more compelling but it was the science and the look into what is possible NOW that got my interest and held it.
