From the start the author grabs your attention with a couple hearing a banging noise from a white van. They certainly don’t bargain for what they find inside. From then on in, the story takes lots of twists and turns with plenty of jaw dropping moments.
This is a novel that if I didn’t have such a hectic few days, I would easily have read in one sitting. All I thought about was being able to get back to the story to see what more horrors and surprises the author had in store for me. Believe me, when I say the horrors that do await you are chilling, but yet oh so thrilling.
This would make a great horror film. It is packed full of hair raising moments that both scare and delight the reader. I turned each page not knowing what to expect as the author managed to keep startling me with what I was reading as even though I knew it was going to be a twisted read, I just hadn’t bargained on how much of a one it would be.
Turn The Other Way is a guaranteed page turner and one that will have you hiding behind the cushions. It really gets the adrenaline pumping through your veins with all the excitement of thrills that are around every corner. There is no way I would ever suffer with a locked jaw whilst reading this novel as I read it with it mainly dropped as the author kept hitting me out of the blue with some horrible surprises, of which I absolutely loved. Great read and can’t wait to read more.
It has been a long time since I have stayed up all night reading, but this book is so damn good it just had to be done.Talk about a white knuckle ride when we follow a story that alternates between the past and the present when we meet a cast of characters with a story set in a derelict farm house. Which is oh so very creepy.
The opening scene for the present time line made me feel like I was watching The Hitchhiker (what a Film) I was well and truly hooked.
OMG what can I say but this story takes gruesome to another level, so it isn’t for the faint hearted. (you know me the darker the better.) Not only will this story keep you up all night it will make you squirm and feel the terror.
I love how the story alternates and we follow two different time lines, with each chapter leaving you wanting more. This story is freaking mind blowing.
If you are looking for something dark then this is the book for you. I am a massive fan of Shaun Hutson, Richard Laymon and Graham Masterson. All you horror fans are going to love it, I sure did. Stuart has weaved a crime into the perfect horror story. I cannot recommend it enough giving it all the stars.
The story flicks between past and present, starting with the death of a young girl after routine kidney surgery. The surgeon goes off the rails completely and his wife starts to suspect he is killing people and burying them in their garden.
The present follows a couple who see what looks like an elderly couple that have been kidnapped in the back of a van.
The story follows to a spooky old secluded house with a basement full of rats and a "special" room for the dad. Anyone unfortunate enough to happen upon the house may not approve of the decor.
As the tension ramps, Chloe is searching for her missing parents and wonders why everyone in the strange little town looks petrified when she mentions the house.
The two timelines join and the truth starts to be revealed with some brilliant twists that I never expected.
I'm a big fan of Stuarts writing anyway but this was as brilliant as the others 😁
The twists towards the end were very well thought out. Usually I have an idea what might be coming but I was surprised by them all. Stuart really knows how to keep his readers guessing!
I cannot recommend this book enough. It is the most heart pounding book I have read in a long time. I would give it more than 5 stars if I could!
