Having read the second book first and having loved it; I was somewhat disappointed with this one. Seems to have too much sex and not enough story, for my liking. I love time travel stories, and again, the second book outshines this one. I hope the third book is more like the second. Can't wait to read it!
This book seemed to have everything going for it yet didn't quite make it. It had a great writer, a beautiful island, a fantastic old house with a story to tell and a dynamic handsome young business man with an enthusiastic, enslaved student. Why then didn't I really like it that much. I love Jude Deveraux's work but this was just not up to her usual standard. It was very slow to start and the characters seemed one dimensional. Half way through I began to pick up interest and the characters seemed to come to life. I liked the cameo appearance of theMontgomery/ taggart relations. Even then I felt the storyline stretched credibility too far. I will admit that by the end I was hooked and could't wait to finish it but still can't shake the feeling of disappointment. I have not decided whether I will risk the second book in the series
Telling how true love lasts over centuries as a heartwarming tale of ghosts... presence and faithfulness enables a beautiful story to be woven.. once again Jude Deveraux excells

A sweet historical/contemporary romance filled with weddings, ghosts and long lost loves. As usual Ms Deveraux pulls you in slowly and before you know it, it's after midnight on a workday and you are still reading with a sappy grin on your face. Nice!

Too many characters with name changes and then abbreviations which made it difficult to keep track and therefore interested! Shame as Jude deveraux is a very good writer.
