Product Description

Everyone in Nashville knows Nathan Dumont. That's what happens when you develop half a town and sleep with the rest.
Four years ago, his fiancee disappeared.
Last night, he proposed to me.

I'd wanted to escape my life, the seedy strip club and the mountain of bills. I had seized the opportunity to live in a mansion, fill my days with country clubs and caviar, my nights with romance and sex.

Maybe I should have done my homework first.

Note: This book is an expanded and revised version of Mrs Dumont, which is no longer available for sale. It contains filthy hot scenes, voyeurism, a dominating alpha male, and a plot you won't be able to step away from.

I am a big Alessandre Torres fan but I must say I have not enjoyed her recent work as much as her earlier work. Well scrap that theory - 'Trophy Wife' offers the best of both words. The steamy, taboo, twisted trope of her earlier reads and the intense, passion and darkness of her most recent books.

Whether you have read the Dumont Diaries or not you won't be able to put down the 'Trophy Wife'. This story is a standalone and is told from dual POV's. I have to admit that it's been so long since I'd read the Dumont Diaries that I felt I was reading something new and totally addictive. Reading back on my reviews written originally, I referenced how much I disliked the characters but by the end understood them more... I think that that's not the case in this re-write, you don't dislike them as much - more that you are completely gobsmacked by there actions through out.
I enjoyed Nathan and Candace's hot, steamy, distant yet passionate relationship. It's a true rags to riches story. A romance that's challenging and intense but heavily conflicted.

If you are new to Candace and Nathan's story be prepared to be pulled into their deliciously filthy love story. I enjoyed getting to know the dominant and messed up Nathan Dumont, and the sassy former stripper Candy. In short, the story goes Nathan the multi-millionaire comes into a strip club specifically asking for Candy. Offers her a deal no one could turn down. Candy is trying to pay off student loans and credit card debit while her father is sick. She has much more sass in this rewrite... I liked her 'Life as a trophy wife? Piece of freaking cake.' Yet little does she know the rollercoaster that her life is now on...

The entire book was utterly compelling and you spend a lot of time wondering what is happening?

I feel it could have been a longer book ..I know it has been revamped and more added but the storyline was really good and possibly so much more could have been elaborated on. Love this writers ability to suck you in so you come to the end and go wow .

I'm always eager to read this authors stories as there is usually a good twist or two. I can't say it's the best one I've read but none the less it doesn't disappoint.

In most stories like this there is a trade off for the 'pretend' situation involving a contract etc and that's what is supposed to happen. Except we know they fall in love & there is a HEA. So how does this one play out?

Our main characters are Nathan & Candy, the millionaire & stripper. The question you ask is why he wants Candy as his wife. The answer is twofold & you'll have to read it to find out. However the tension builds, once she has become the 'Trophy Wife'. Many scenarios run through her head but as usual finds herself falling for Nathan, who clearly says this is just about sex and I must say it is one hot read.

Just as an aside you may ask what part does Drew play in this? I was surprised however that he took a step back in the end. Oh well I thought he might have fought a bit more.

My reviews aren't always like everyone's they reflect my mood or feelings after reading this, so sometimes can be a bit off track from the story. Dont let me put you off as this has a lot of hotness, suspense, drama & as usual an Alessandra Torre twist or two.

This book takes you through a very twisted tale. Definitely dark and definitely hot. Candy is more than you think she is and Nathan is one seriously complicated guy. Add in a few plot twists, smoking hot chemistry and an ending I loved and I definitely recommend this book.

3.0 out of 5 stars Had hints of pretty women to it, but Candy was no Julia Roberts. 22 April 2017

Candy firsts meets Nathan when he shows up at the strip club and requests her in the VIP room. Candy was down on her luck and gives into his demand for a side service. She doesn't quite know what to think about him and is surprised when he and his bodyguards show up again with another proposition. Candy is barely making it and is one payday away from living on the streets. Her father is ill and she can't afford to help out with his medical bills at all. Enter Nathan who gives her a way out of that life. She has to become his trophy wife and he will take care of her and her father.

Candy agrees but finds that the grass isn't always greener. Although she is no longer struggling to make ends meet, she finds herself trapped in a cage. Her list of rules is long and Nathan is not a nice man to her. He is mean, degrading and downright nasty at times. I admit to losing some respect for Candy at points and felt she was weak and easily swayed by his body and the chemistry they ignited. Her inability to stand strong at times was not easily accepted by me. She had a say in what happened, but chose to stay in a relationship that was toxic. Her self-respect was non-existent.

Nathan had his reasons for what he did, but it didn't make it right. He was worried about her developing feelings for him and went about getting her to hate him in order to spare them both. It was ridiculous and downright hard to read at times. His real reason for finding her and getting her to agree to his wife was two-fold and it takes a while to discover his true motives.

Candy finds Drew, Nathan's bodyguard, to be a kind of light in her darkness. They start to develop feelings for each other and it led to a sort of love triangle. I had a hard time understanding Candy's ability to compartmentalize sleeping with two men at the same time. Nathan had her bound by a contract but Drew had nothing on her. I was at a loss as to what she was doing with Drew. She was a confused mess and I had a hard time finding sympathy for her at times. She allowed herself to be used as a puppet by 2 men and didn't even put up a fight.

The ending was better for me but I was still not enamored with this couple. There was too much damage each of them did for me to fully like them at the end. Felt Nathan should have been more upset at Candy's deception, especially in light of the amount. She would never have needed that much for her father and she knew it. She was a coward and a thief.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Her! 27 April 2017

I love Alessandra Torre's writing. Whether it's a lighter story line or one of her more intense novels, she pulls me in, and I binge read until I finish the book, while at the same time trying to slow down and savor it. I'm glad I read this version and not the earlier novellas, which I don't like and rarely purchase. I applaud her for revisiting and refining these characters and their story. I admittedly did not love this book for about the first 40%. I struggled with the main characters, Nathan being a total ass and Candy putting up with it, even though I understood her reasons for being and doing whatever he wanted. But I knew that once I finished the book the normal feelings I had in the beginning would give way to understanding. And that's exactly what happened. I love that at the end of each of her books I spend time reflecting on the whole of it, whereas with many others I finish it, park it, and never think about it again. She continues to be one of my go-to authors who is an automatic pre order for me.

Wow! This book did not disappoint!! This is a story of sex, lies and what happens when fate intervenes! This is the story of a stripper named Candace and a billionaire named Nathan. Nathan knows what he wants in life....he wants his fiancee' Cecile back home. She left 4 years ago without telling anyone where she was going. He thinks by making Cecile jealous she will come back to him. So he closed off his heart and he found a perfect solution to his problem. Candace. She is down on her luck and working as a stripper to help her dad who is sick. Candace agrees to a marriage of convenience. She needs the money and Nathan needs her to play a part. But when fate intervenes will Nathan get what he really wants? Loved this story!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Hot read 20 April 2017

3.5 stars

Having not read the Dumont Diaries, I didn't know what I was getting into with Trophy Wife.

It took me awhile to get into the book. I didn't like Nathan at first with how cold and indifferent he was. Candy was stronger than I gave her credit for at first, having gone into this relationship and marriage in order to get her father better medical care.

There were definitely parts I wanted to strangle both characters, but they grew on me more in the second half. I enjoyed the slight mystery aspect, how did Nathan know her when they'd never met?, and there was definite steam between the two.
5.0 out of 5 stars What a ride! 22 April 2017

This is a totally different book from any I've read. It shows a girl so far down in luck it's not funny. Enter a millionaire with an offer she can't resist. You get a marriage of convenience to an incredible jerk but with an incredible body and face and makes love like a star. She suffers humiliation but is a slave to him for sex. I thought it was impossible to turn this situation into a love story, yet the author did, and brilliantly too! Candace is a great character. As a young adult, she was irresponsible and reckless, yet she's a great person, with good values, and a great reader of people. Nathan is a jerk most of the book, with some redeeming values, but he mesmerizes us. I could see his appeal, and understand why Candy fell in love. Drew is like a victim of the game, also like a sore loser. I wasn't very enamored of his character, although he was very necessary to the story. It was such a riveting story, totally recommend. Be prepared for an exciting ride and some unexpected twists.
