Product description

Product Description

Everyone in Nashville knows Nathan Dumont. That's what happens when you develop half a town and sleep with the rest.
Four years ago, his fiancee disappeared.
Last night, he proposed to me.

I'd wanted to escape my life, the seedy strip club and the mountain of bills. I had seized the opportunity to live in a mansion, fill my days with country clubs and caviar, my nights with romance and sex.

Maybe I should have done my homework first.

Note: This book is an expanded and revised version of Mrs Dumont, which is no longer available for sale. It contains filthy hot scenes, voyeurism, a dominating alpha male, and a plot you won't be able to step away from.

I love a good book with twists and this book has a few good ones. I've always loved Alessandra's writing but I must say this is now my favourite. Love in Lingerie stole that title from Black Lies, but now this is up there. I can't wait to read it again. Thanks for taking so long to write this. It was worth the wait.

I am a big Alessandre Torres fan but I must say I have not enjoyed her recent work as much as her earlier work. Well scrap that theory - 'Trophy Wife' offers the best of both words. The steamy, taboo, twisted trope of her earlier reads and the intense, passion and darkness of her most recent books.

Whether you have read the Dumont Diaries or not you won't be able to put down the 'Trophy Wife'. This story is a standalone and is told from dual POV's. I have to admit that it's been so long since I'd read the Dumont Diaries that I felt I was reading something new and totally addictive. Reading back on my reviews written originally, I referenced how much I disliked the characters but by the end understood them more... I think that that's not the case in this re-write, you don't dislike them as much - more that you are completely gobsmacked by there actions through out.
I enjoyed Nathan and Candace's hot, steamy, distant yet passionate relationship. It's a true rags to riches story. A romance that's challenging and intense but heavily conflicted.

If you are new to Candace and Nathan's story be prepared to be pulled into their deliciously filthy love story. I enjoyed getting to know the dominant and messed up Nathan Dumont, and the sassy former stripper Candy. In short, the story goes Nathan the multi-millionaire comes into a strip club specifically asking for Candy. Offers her a deal no one could turn down. Candy is trying to pay off student loans and credit card debit while her father is sick. She has much more sass in this rewrite... I liked her 'Life as a trophy wife? Piece of freaking cake.' Yet little does she know the rollercoaster that her life is now on...

The entire book was utterly compelling and you spend a lot of time wondering what is happening?

I feel it could have been a longer book ..I know it has been revamped and more added but the storyline was really good and possibly so much more could have been elaborated on. Love this writers ability to suck you in so you come to the end and go wow .

I really loved this book, I read it in just over a day and couldn't put it down. Great writing that flowed so well and characters you loved to hate with a great story to boot,

Candy is a stripper who does this job for one reason - to make ends meet and to get some money together to take care of her father who is ill.
When one day Nathan Dumont walks into her strip club and requests her and only her she starts to be suspicious of what he might want, but when he offers her a proposition that could change her life for the better she is temped to take up his offer and become his Trophy Wife - just for show of course. She gets to live in a beautiful house and want for nothing, great sex with a gorgeous man - easy right, or maybe she has just made the biggest mistake of her life.

I adored all these characters, Candy is feisty and knows just what she wants, to a certain extent she doesn't care what people say or think about her, she is a free loving soul but also vulnerable in some ways.
Nathan is man you should really dislike. He is arrogant, cold, demanding but sexy as F***. I tried to dislike him but I was really just pulled towards him and couldn't resist his character at all, and we got to read his POV as well which is always an added bonus because we get to see what is going on in that complicated mind of his.

What I loved about this book was it kicked off straight away- BOOM !!! the angst, the suspense, twist galore, it's mysterious and kept you guessing right until the end, oh and the sex ---- WOW now that was hot as hell and written so well, really erotic and sexy and such a turn on, I wanted to be Candy when Nathan devoured her. I loved this man.

I have only read one other book by this author which was Moonshot which was amazing and this book is just as good - I really enjoy her writing and will read more of her work.
Add this book to your list of TBR and read as soon as you can - brilliant !!!!!!

Not sure what to make of this one. The writing was from Candy's (hate that name by the way) POV - in the first person present tense, which was fine - except for the narration by Nathan scattered throughout, which was a mishmash in tenses and delivery and quite strange.

The story was fairly interesting though and quite different for a change as the heroine was a stripper. I thought it was heading in the dark suspense direction but then it changed completely and quite frankly I was disappointed by the end. The storyline with Drew threw me, then it went nowhere and it made no sense to even have him featured. The main relationship was pretty much pure erotica written in a porno style and not romantic and I felt no love and no bond between the h/h. After Candy's scenes with Drew, my respect for her went out the window and that's when I started loosing interest. I pretty much skimmed over the last few chapters. Nathan also did not appeal to me.

I believe this was an early work and was originally in a serial form, so I most likely would not have started the book in the first place as I don't like serials. I am however intending to read 'Hollywood Dirt'. This one just did not deliver for me. 2.5 stars.
