Great story with a nail biting cliff hanger type breadcrumb

Glad I don't have to wait for the next book to be published. This would have been difficult for older fans of Albright's who were reading this series when it was brand new. Being a latecomer to the Albright world gives me the luxury of jumping straight into the next book.

Such an awesome series best enjoyed in the correct order.

Another clever plot involving Wanda and her friends

This book begins with Wanda taking some rest time from her Wayfarer duties, but as usual with Wanda that doesn't last long! A talking rabbit leads her and her friends into a new case involving a magic club in an area of the city that is new to all of us. I loved the Queen's "when you know, you know" spell, as A. A. Albright gives us another clever spin on a magical world and characters meeting humans. As ever, the characters provide some comedy, for instance it's good to read Gretel's clumsiness doesn't change although I feel a bit sorry for her.
Throughout this book the tension builds, with the underlying threat of what might be coming to Wanda, and the ending is slightly scary. Fortunately, I have the next book to get straight into!
