Carter is one of the kings of Alstone high. The typical wealthy arrogant athlete alphahole. Raine is the invisible loner with social anxiety. Until she tricks him and he finds out. It becomes his mission to make her pay.
Having read Cross the Line & In a Week first I knew the characters but not their full story. Carter is very different here to in the books that follow. His arrogance and his selfish attitude are excessive. He’s so self entitled. They both go through character development, but he grows the most by the end. I enjoyed the other sides of the story foreshadowing for Cross the Line with Kian and Preston. They’re definitely my favourites from this world.
I do recommend reading all the books set in the world
Carter was one of the boys that ran the school and he was the captain of the football team. He was one you couldnt touch.
Raine was quiet and very to her self. Carter had an obsession with being mean to her.
At the halloween carnival Carter and the boys make up scary games to play. well this years game changed everything.
Carter fell for Raine after the carnival but was
Raine was falling for Carter even though he wasnt very nice to her.
Carter was a very jealous person spec when it came to Raine and Cassius haha.
Raine and Carters tension was smoking HOT through the whole book.
To find out all the juiciness going on in this book you MUST READ!!!!
Becca has nailed another book and its def a 5 star book.
Let the tricking begin, this is a broadcasting announcement introducing fright night. When the siren sounds, let the games begin.
Can I start with saying that I wish I could be a part of the fright night. It seems out of control, wild, really out there, dangerous and loads and loads of trouble but that’s the fun in it and I was so down with reading all about it as I sort of imagined I was there, it was right up my alley.
Starting this book I had no clue what I was going to expect. This book definitely ticked all my boxes and gave me everything that I love in a book. It packed the heat, pulled the punches, gave us the light and fun hearted but it also gave us the vulnerable side and the suspense that we all just gobble up.
It all started one night at fright night that changed it all, this shy girl who has a really small well you could say non-existent circle of friends came out of her shell and came out to play. She’s the girl who hides in shadows but that was until a friend showed her how easy it is to come out of you’re shell. This was when we seen her blossom into this girl who found her own voice, and when she wants something she is not afraid to show you.
This night, she caught the eye of Carter. Carter is one of the top football players and is proclaimed King with his two best mates Kian and Xavier. Carter comes across as being dominant, possessive, arrogant but deep down he is this vulnerable guy who is struggling to find support from his family. A family who should support you no matter what.
These characters were a pair that I absolutely loved to hate. I say that because their push and pull was frustrating and gave me whiplash but once these two had their crap together, they were something real and amazing. I loved watching their relationship transform throughout, going from hate, to like, to lust and to finally falling in love. These two became each other’s downfall and down the rabbit hole they went.
As we watched these characters develop, hidden on the sidelines was danger and suspense waiting to knock these two down. It was just waiting for the perfect moment to strike. This was a twist that I did not see coming, although throughout the book I did have this slight sick feeling aching at the bottom of my stomach waiting for the ball to drop with something dangerous bound to happen.
When Danger Strikes, it pulled these two closer together and made them realise how much they wanted each other. Sometimes you need the bad stuff to happen, to give you a reality check and make you fight for something that you really want.
We also got to revisit some of the characters from the Four Series and that made me crave for their books even more. Absolutely loved Lena, Cassius and Weston in this book and can’t wait to find out what this author has in store for us for them.
Trick me twice was everything I love in a book that was wrapped up together nicely. If you’re a fan of enemies to lovers books with a sprinkle of this and that. Then this book will be for you.

and the four where brought into it ........( if you haven't read the four you NEED to)
Trick me twice its been emotional ... loved it ...
..... thank you Becca for yet another fabulous read xx
Captain of the sports team and the unexpected girl, and when I tell you Carter is SO FINE that I couldn't even cope!
Carter was one of the cruelest bullies I've read, and I adored it! Everything about him was sexy, alluring, and arrogant. You want to hate him but you just can't because although he's a massive a-hole, undernearth that is a guy who whispers sweet nothings like he doesn't have control over them, and a guy who's so confused about his feelings that he makes a lot of wrong decisions for the "right reasons" even though those decisions hurt Raine so much.
Speaking of, I LOVE Raine! It was amazing to see her develop from the invisible introvert to this confident and sassy minx! The little trickster always held her own, and even when Carter has continously broken her heart she always bounced back stronger than before.
I loved the whole scare factor of it being set around Halloween, it made it so original, so unique and made the whole novel burst with suspense! The momentum of this theme carried throughout the book added so much mischief and excitement, I lived for those moments where Carter and Raine would put on his purge mask and play in the shadows like nothing else in the world existed.
Carter and Raine.
Fast paced, page turner, bully romance.
These two have some hot chemistry between them. Even though they don't know each other well. Coming from different circles. Raine flies under the radar, she's more or less one of the invisible students. While Carter is wealthier, popular athlete. It doesn't help that they're neighbours.
Raine is smart, lives with her Aunt, Carter's father is on about his grades and he holds Raine up on a pedestal as an example for Carter and he hates it.
The turmoil poor Raine goes through.
Throw in Halloween pranks, chases, the usual catty girls and jealousy.
Does Carter realise what he's done?
The twists and turns keeps you gripped.
Raine i loved seeing her confidence grow and how she realised her worth and doesn't belong in the shadows shes put through hell but still manages to walk out with her head held high i adore her.
Carter the devil myself i cpuldnt help but love him even during the times of hating him! His cold, harshness with raine at times honestly broke my heart i could feel her pain but hes someone who is trying to figure out how to handle his emotions but you could tell he genuinely loves raine and a lot of time he was just trying to protect her
Side note the playlist for this book was so good!
The only think I didn’t like was I couldn’t decide on the location, it strongly suggests they’re in the london area however a lot of things make me believe they would be in America
