Travel Stories: From Tasmania to Taiwan
My finger traced the outline of a little island on the map; this island was Taiwan, a tiny dot, off the coast of China. At that time, about five years ago I was on another, slightly bigger island. I was in Tasmania. I had just arrived at Little Devil’s Backpackers on an eleven-hour overnight boat crossing to start my new job as a fruit picker. It was here that I made friends with lots of Taiwanese people and vowed that one day I would visit Taiwan.
This book contains stories from my travels across the world including; England, New Zealand, Australia and Taiwan.
I spent a year living and working in New Zealand, followed by two in Australia. In Nov 2015 I made the trip to Taiwan where I spent five weeks travelling, meeting up with friends and volunteering at a yoga retreat centre.
I have also included some bonus materials to help inspire readers. There’s a blog post called ‘The Changing Colours of Nature,’ about making art from things you find in the natural environment. An article about the ‘Top Ten Reasons to Visit Taiwan’ and instructions on ‘How to Give Yourself a Full Body Massage,’ including how to massage the bottom of your foot with your elbow.
