Excellent story featuring a different kind of hero, plenty of bad guys & even a gentle love story all woven togetherReviewed in the United States on 28 July 2018
This was one of the best western books I've read in a long time. Once of the best books period! I was a little shaky the first few pages with all the information dump regarding the main character but once the plot got rolling it didn't stop. The tension kept building and building and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next. Near the end I was like "how are they going to get out of this!" Whenever you don't want a book to end you know its good. It is rare that you can combine action, suspense along with a sweet love story. Mr. Matthews hit it out of the park with this one. I would welcome a sequel any day of the week.
One Tough TrailReviewed in the United States on 6 November 2018
The Trail to Devil's Canyon is researched and written with the deft hand of a story teller. Anton Korlov, also known as Old Moscow, Judd Reed, his step son, Lucy Doniphon and a passel of Paiutes out for revenge entwine together for a conclusion you soon won't forget. This western faces reality squarely.
