When we first got snippets of Cory in The Dugout, I wanted to know more and more about him and right off the bat I was so happy with this book. Firstly, I love this cover and "Cory's" eyes! So hypnotising! I could stare at him forever, I think he is in a league of his own. As with the other editions in this series, there is the classic MQ humor that has you giggling in inappropriate times when reading it, but there is also more depth to these books with how the relationships play out. Cory and Natalie's story is very complexed with issues that they both bring into it.
Cory has never had a relationship before, preferring to concentrate solely on his career. He has spent so much time on and off the field perfecting his game that its not easy for him to separate and segregate his work and personal life. Natalie has had some experience with a long term partner and she also knows what it is like to be around a major league player, being her brother Jason is on the same team as Cory. What they have to sort out, is how to balance it all without dropping the ball. Homeplate is always the objective in the game and life and of course MQ swings us around the bases until this couple get a home run.
I admired Cory for his work ethic and determination to be the best first baseman on any team. Being traded half way through a season would be the pits but he held his head high with dignity . I enjoyed reading about the way this couple started out and along with everyone else, I was gutted when things started to turn into a curve ball for them. Cory was so attentive and commutative with Nat, she and I both revelled in his dirty mouth! Nat held her own, and had little, skimpy even, tricks she could play too to tempt our heavy hitter!
I am not sure if there are any more books to come in this series, but I am hoping so big time! There is Maddox Paige I am wanting to hear about, as well as Walker Rockwell from The Lineup. Both these guys have an interesting piece to say I am sure.

So I have to say that Cory has been one of my most favourite secondary characters in this series of stand-alones. I think in part because when we met Milly he was this super famous, successful athlete, yet he was still such a great brother. And every time we met him he was so straight and together I just loved him.
He was so solid and dependable. Then to get his story and discover he's always incredibly sweet just made me love him even more. But then Meghan had to go and throw in an overabundance of muscles, a "boss" cock, and some great dirty talking and I was done.
And Natalie was perfect for him. She was just as sweet and despite her ex making her doubt her self worth she was awesome. Plus she's Jason's sister so she's well versed in all the craziness. And with them all being connected we got a lot of the couples I have really enjoyed.
Now there was a bit of a twist in this story and I really wasn't happy with Cory for quite some time. But at the same time my heart broke for him and I completely understood why he was a huge dick. Luckily for me he pulled his head out and proved why I had fallen so hard for him in the first place.
This story really took me on this awesome roller-coaster ride. First I was teetering on the edge of overwhelming chemistry and attraction. Then I was riding high on some smoking hot sexy times. Before I plummeted into a vast array of emotions. And all along the journey I was laughing and smiling and possibly shedding a tear. I really enjoyed the ride and I can't wait to see if there are any more additions to this awesome series.

Please, please PLEEEAAASSSEEE let this not be the final book in this series.
I have been waiting for what seems forever to get my hands on Coryβs book. He was a bit of an enigma throughout this series so to have him up front and so very human with his faults I was practically beside myself reading his story.
Natalie was an exceptional heroine for Cory in this book. Her quirkiness and sense of humor made the book even more exciting to read. And really I ended up disappointed when I reached the end. I could have just kept going and going jumping in to their world.
I voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

OMG!!! Not sure where to start...One word CORY. This book should be way more than 5 stars!!! Everyone needs a Cory, heβs sexy, witty, good looking, charming, sensitive, caring, romantic and so incredibly lovable. Natalie is funny, clever, gorgeous and trying to re build her life after her divorce. The minute these two meet you can see the sparks begging to fly and their chemistry is off the charts. Their journey will have you at the edge of your seat and let me tell you...for a romantic comedy itβll make you shed a tear or two! This is a fantastically written book that I have no doubt youβll love reading. Itβs funny, witty, romantic, emotional and so much more. Thank you Meghan for another fantastic book.

Cory f$%^ing Potter!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 March 2021Verified Purchase
I've been quite hooked on these Brentwood guys and their stories and I was so looking froward to reading all about Cory F%$#ing Potter and I must say he actually broke me ever so slightly!
Cory pushed himself to be the very best..
He wants to please everyone and just wants a happy easy life so when he's traded mid season he starts to feel like his world is crumbling all around him.
Natalie is sister of the crazy weird and amazing Jason who we've previously met in this series and she's starting her life over again after a recent divorce.. and when she sets her sights on hottie Cory her world starts to change.
A huge misunderstanding gets in the way of these guys and I jonsstky felt so bad for Cory and just wanted to hug him so bad!
Loved getting glimpses of Jason throughout this book.
Onwards to the next book... its time for brooding bad boy Maddox!!!!!

This book is wonderful! Cory and Natalie are perfect for each other, their personalities, banter, chemistry and ability to know what the other needs is uncanny! Throughout this book I felt I was feeling each and every emotion they felt, especially the frustration and couldnβt put the book down until I knew what was happening for sure!
Lots of heat, emotions, determination and friendship throughout this book and it makes itβs hard to put down!
This series is brilliant and each book just keeps giving! Looking forward to more!!

Well done again Meghan.
Fabulous story again
Loved the storyline and the characters and their connections with each other.
Absolutely adored Cory and Natalie. Loved seeing them both have their HEA.
I'm loving this series so much. Jason is an absolute scream of a man with all his antics and truly adorable.
Fantastic reading but have the tissues on standby.

An OK Read

I've read all the books in this series and most of Meghan's other books. While I do enjoy them and have found them laugh out loud funny at times, there are parts to each story that mimic the other and have very similar themes. I didn't enjoy the character of Jason, by his mannerisms and over the top personality his character would have been m ore believable if he was gay. In fact, I think that story line would have been much more interesting if it followed that path. Also, the character of Natalie was grating. Yes, Cory was hot. we got it. And NO ONE talks about intimacy in SUCH DETAIL with friends/family. Some things are TMI!!! For the love of everything. This is present in EVERY book it and it's completely annoying. The plot was predictable and the fact that the fans hated Cory so much even though he was a stand out on his team was frustrating. Cory himself was annoying too - just go for what you want! Both characters were whiny and grating. Also, unlike most Meghan books, there wasn't any laugh out loud parts which was disappointing. I'm sure it will get many 5 stars because readers feel loyal to their favorite authors instead of being honest about story lines, characters, etc. 3 stars mean OK to me and that just what this book was. OK.
