Fun read, but needs more romance!
Reviewed in the United States on 4 October 2019Verified Purchase
This isn't my favorite book of this series, but it was enjoyable and I want to give it 5 stars. My main "complaint" about this book - about this series - is the ongoing lack of real romance between Bailey and Aiden. Somewhere along the way, in an earlier book, Bailey started referring to Aiden as her boyfriend - it was so out-of-the-blue that I wondered if I had missed the big, romantic first kiss scene somewhere. Nope. It's all still quick pecks on the lips, and they've still never gone on a date. So their progression to boyfriend-girlfriend - normally such a fun part of books with a romance element - feels lazily slipped in with the hopes readers won't notice what's been skipped over. Bailey even states she loves Aiden, which feels particularly weird since their interactions have only been over dead bodies and talking about murderers. I get the need to keep some sexual tension . . . but having two adults totally content to be boyfriend-girlfriend for months without a date or a romantic moment isn't working.

Murder And An Eight Foot Bunny!
Reviewed in the United States on 3 July 2019Verified Purchase
Whether you like chocolate, murder mysteries, the world of the Amish, gentle romance, or bunny loving kittens and pigs, you will thoroughly enjoy 'Toxic Toffee."
This is a favorite cozy mystery series for me. I sincerely suggest that you begin reading from volume one onward.
In Ohio, a man has been murdered. However, in this case, truly no one can figure out why? He's beloved. Then Bailey, a well-known chocolatier with her own television series, comes home to work in her Grandmother's candy shop and is asked to solve the man's murder. Now, Bailey also is summoned to build an eight foot Easter Bunny for the town square, but, having solved a few mysteries before, she is compelled to help the son of the deceased.
Aiden Brody, Bailey's beau and deputy doesn't agree with her determination, but that never stops a dedicated amateur sleuth.
This book was a great read, but I do warn you...you may find yourself craving candies! Enjoy!

Bailey and Charlotte return from New York just in time to participate in the week long spring festival which will feature a giant rabbit made by Bailey. Friendly Stephen Raber, a rabbit farmer is providing live rabbits for the festival. When Stephen dies from an apparent heart attack no one is surprised because of his weak heart. But, when it turns out that he was poisoned everyone is shocked because he was well liked among the Amish and the English. Bailey is asked by more than one Amish member to help find the killer.
I really enjoyed visiting Harvest, Ohio again. As always Bailey finds a way to not only make delicious chocolates and a huge toffee rabbit, she finds a killer too. Full of great characters that create a full, rich story.

Another fun read by Ms Flower. This time not only are we dealing with chocolate Easter bunnies but live white ones and an 8 foot Toffee bunny to set off the Easter Days celebration in the square. When the owner of the live bunnies on the square dies in front of her eyes we know that Bailey is not going sit by and do nothing. This was a well constructed mystery with lots of options as well as chocolate and sweet animals, everything you could ask for in a cozy mystery!!!!
