Similar to other reviewers, I found this series compulsive reading and finished all six books within a couple of weeks. It’s probably a good idea to binge read these so that you don’t forget what went on in the previous books! The author is clearly very knowledgeable about the geographical area that he’s writing about - so much so that sometimes I got the impression that he was telling the reader ‘I have spent a lot of time researching the old streets and buildings of Moseley so I’m going to let you know about it’, but that being said it did pad the story out nicely. Because of the obvious attention to detail of getting his setting correct, I was surprised at the occasional jarring historical inaccuracies that jumped out at me. For example in book one there is a reference to a local newspaper in 1912 being sold for threepence. This might have been true for a national paper that had to expensively be moved around the country, but a local paper was more likely to cost a penny. In the 1940’s era a reference was made to the Queen’s speech, when of course a King was on the throne. And do modern youngsters refer to cell phones in Britain? I may be out of touch but in my experience they still refer to mobiles. I know that I’m being a bit picky - if I can suspend my belief about time travel I surely can overlook these little things. But it’s sometimes the little things that have the potential to bring a reader out of the story with a jolt. That being said, I’m happy to give this author five stars, and I will certainly buy more of his work.

I saw season one of the Touchstone advertised in Facebook. As an avid kindle reader I had recently finished another time travelling book, which I thoroughly enjoyed, so on seeing this whole series advertised at such a good price, I couldn't resist the risk that I might not like it. I needn't have worried, it is excellent - just finished it about 20 minutes ago! I was so hooked that I would like to have finished it in one go, but with the length of it that was impossible, at least for me. I am not going to try to describe the story, the author is much better at that than I could be, but if you have ever enjoyed fantasy or science fiction novels, or have a belief in magic hidden somewhere in your soul, then I can thoroughly recommend this series.

So so so good has got into my dreams and is only surpassed by Jack Finney the master in time travel but if this guy carries on in same vein I can not wait..really well observed , my only wish was it was based where I live as his local history appears spot on and must be great to read it if you are actually living in Mosely. Only criticism is that needs some editing as i the same paragraphs some repetition but this is a minor detraction from a cracking story
I thought at first why did I buy the whole first series if I then didn't like them but it was a wise decision. It draws you in book by book & yes I did binge read a few books at a time. Time travel it definitely is & it does make you think maybe just maybe it could happen.
This book has to be one of best time travel stories I've read and looking forward to reading series two. I simply could not put it down. All the twists and turns. I picked up by accident knowing nothing about it's origins
