Product Description

*Mature YA: sexual content and language. Intended for readers 17 and older*

The myth of Eros isn’t the truth. Her story is the truth . . .

Love is an immortal bad girl. With a strike of her arrow and a smirk on her face, she pins human hearts together against their will. It’s for their own good, of course—silly, clueless creatures that they are.

But Love has never loved. Not until the Fates parcel her off to a small, frostbitten town littered with needy souls. Not until she crosses paths with Andrew, a boy whose gaze locks onto hers. Yet how can this be? Mortals don’t have the power to see deities.

The longer they’re friends, the more Love wishes she could touch Andrew. In gentle ways. In other tempting and reckless ways as well.

It’s impossible. She isn’t a true part of his world. She’s an outsider whose fingers will only ever sweep through him. A mischievous, invisible goddess who’s destined to be alone. And he’s destined for someone else. By order of the Fates, it’s Love’s duty to betray his trust. To seal his heart while ignoring the gash in her own.

Or she could become human. For there is one very tricky, very dangerous way to do so.

If only Andrew felt the same about her, it might be worth the risk.

I absolutely loved this book I didn't want to put it down. It was a nice easy read with great characters I really loved the dynamics of anger, love, envy, wonder and sorrow and of course sweet sweet Andrew.
A clever take on classic mythology stories I would definitely recommend this book!!

Spoilers below so beware

I enjoyed this book. It's not my all time favorite but I did like it. It had good pacing and an interesting plot.

I appreciate that I wasn't left with any questions at all. That is the worst thing about stand alone book, in my opinion, is when they are ended without answering all the questions that were brought up. This book didn't do that.

I gave it four stars instead of five because I don't understand why Love did not know Anger was in love with her. I mean she is Love. She knows the feeling inside and out and how to spot it. Even after she knows she loves Andrew and has felt it personally she cannot see what Anger feels towards her. It's obvious that she recognizes lust when she talks to Envy but it just didn't sit well with me that after 200+ years around someone she failed to recognize the feeling that she was trusted to dole out.

Other than that, I liked that the author made the love messy. In most YA novels love is that sweet ooey gooey honeymoon phase type of love. It isn't like that forever. Love grows and evolves with a couple. It's not always sweet and nice. Sometimes it's the hard type of love that someone needs to better themselves or to realize something they may be doing wrong. Love is messy. I loved that in the epilogue the author mentioned the right and wrong touches. For example, the wrong touches like brushing against one another when you may be fighting and every little thing annoys you about the other person. That's okay. That doesn't mean you don't love each other. That was my favorite part of the whole book.

Well done. Good read.
4.0 out of 5 stars I highlighted so many wonderful passages throughout this novel 15 May 2017

Natalia Jester has a way with words. I highlighted so many wonderful passages throughout this novel; so many of them struck a chord with me. Natalia approaches the English language, choosing and weaving words together in a way that leaves me stunned.

And THEN there were so those epically heartbreaking scenes. But, regardless, I welcomed each one with open arms. This novel put me through a spectrum of emotions. Typical, Natalia Jaster.

The only thing that knocked the rating down: The dialogue seemed..volatile? at times. Characters would blurt out lines, and I didn't know where they came from/why it was being said or how that line was delivered. This made it hard for me to know if I was interpreting a character correctly (particularly Love) and therefore, had a hard time relating to them. I could never guess where the conversation was headed and not in a good way.

Regardless, still loved it.

I absolutely loved Touch and the magical way Jaster has told the a story, it's so beautiful and unique, and has struck a very deep cord with me and made me look at things a little differently.

The writing is so storyteller and very magical. Imagine yourself as a child around a campfire, a story is being told and you are so engrossed in the story that you become an intricate part of the story. That is the closest to how I can even come to describing reading this book.

I loved the characters, among my favorites were Love and Andrew, of course and Miss Georgie. A girl is the supernatural entity in the story and her name is Love. Love is strong, fierce, stubborn, selfish, mean, kind and protective. She is far from perfect, she is kind of a little snot but I couldn't help but like her. She is not human and did not have a well balanced childhood. While Andrew who's childhood wasn't perfect and who life's is perfect is unwavering kind, thoughtful, Touch is the first book that Natalia Jaster has written and she has smashed it out of the park.

Andrew is also far from perfect but something about them together works. Also I want to mention Miss Georgie, I loved her character I feel that I didn't get to see enough of her in this book.

I love how Jaster gave me the sense of her definition of love and made me think of my own. I love how she described love (the feeling not the character although she was describe well too). Even though this book was about love it was more so about touch hence the book title Touch. Jaster makes me have all the feels in this book but nothing more than the inferences on touch. How sacred it is and how many different ways it can be interpreted.

If you like romance and mythology or writing that will sweep you away then Touch is a book that you must read. I am going to recommend this to every-person who asks me for a book recommendation and maybe even some who don't. If you don't read this book then you will be missing out on something great.
5.0 out of 5 stars fall in love with Love 16 June 2015

this is an excellent debut by Natalia Jaster, whose writing is captivating and writes characters you have no choice but fall in love with!

what i love about this novel is it's not afraid of tackling sex directly in YA, but it is also not included just for the sake of being titillating. the relationship between Love and Andrew has equal parts angst, sexual tension, romance, playfulness and fluff, that you'll root for them right from the start. i also like that the other love interests are not there to be antagonistic, they're also realized characters in their own right.

the only criticism i have is that there's a lot of info dump on the world building that it slowed down the pace of the story a little bit, while they're good to know it doesn't really affect or move the plot at hand.

Though i heard the author plans to turn this into a series, the book itself is a stand-alone, which is another nice bonus!

"Touch" honestly has some of the most beautiful prose--you could flip to any given page and just quote any line. The author's writing style is definitely a trademark and works gorgeously.

This is just such a beautifully written earnest achy romance. It's definitely fantastical and the mythology is well developed, but the love story between Love and Andrew really is the best part. It's just so believable. The two characters have the sweetest interactions and their dialogue is beyond enjoyable. Love is such a fun dynamic heroine--her desires, mischievousness, passion, and compassion. It all just works together so well!

(Also--I believe it's self-published? It's professionally done and the e-book reads flawlessly.)
