Product Description

He’s loved me since the day I was born.
He’s taken care of me.
He’s awakened me.

Tor. My father’s best friend.
Fifteen years older than me, he’s always been my protector. The one I should never, ever want.
But I was born to be his.

She’s always loved me.
She’s shattered me.
She’s healed me.
Kenzi. My best friend’s daughter.
I held her the day she was born, and I never let go.
She’s forbidden to me. But she’s the only one that really gets me.
We’re slowly being torn apart by everything we love.
Everything we want.
Everything we desire.

And now I want the one thing I can’t have... I want her.

** Please note: there is NO underage sex in this book. This book is intended for readers 18 years and older **

This book had me from the beginning I love Carian's writing style. The sub-headings were glimpses of their lives and relationships at different ages and gave you some insight into the characters. Personally I've never been able to understand open relationships. If you want to play around stay single and have fun, surely your just setting yourself up for heartbreak. It seemed they were just one big extended family looking out for one another. Who said that female's are the vulnerable ones in a relationship. Good to see men showing they have soft sides and have been dealt a bad hand too. There are lots of highs and lows in this book with the most poignant for me being when Kenzie went to visit her mum. Every girl needs her mum and it was great that although they didn't have a conversation she was able to apologise and tell her how she was feeling.

Simply beautiful! How can someone take something most consider taboo and make it just amazingly spectacularly beautiful. There was nothing wrong or uncomfortable about this book! Reading it was a pleasure. A h that isn't full of angst and a H that knows his heart. Now that is what l call a beautiful reading journey. And l seriously never want to get off this ride. Ever!

This book has a really unique storyline, the book was a really easy read, even though some would have seen the storyline as a little taboo, i loved how throughout the storyline you got thr history of the chsracters in the flashbacks. It was really well written, each the characters are rwally lovable. I can see them reasoning out their feelings and love hiw everything unfolded.

Torn by Carian Cole is the first book in her new series Devils Wolves. It is a spin-off to her Ashes & Embers series in such that the band members are friends with the main group of characters in this book.

How much more taboo can you get than falling in love with your best friends daughter? Sounds like it could get icky right? Well, it doesn't. The subject matter is uncomfortable and taboo but it is handled so well that you will definitely find yourself rooting for Tor and Kenzi.

As Kenzi approaches adulthood she realizes that the an who has helped her parents take care of her since she was born is the man she is desperately in love with. Her parents met and fell in love and her in their mid-teens. Tor is only 15 or so years older than her and as she ages the gap lessens.

Tor has always been the one to take care of Kenzi. Not that her parents don't but just that his bon withe the child was always so powerful. The were like magnets - always pulled towards each other. When Kenzi makes her feelings for him apparent he spirals into a deep pit of self-loathing and despair. He is also attracted to her and feels it is wrong and worries that he will lose his best friend, her father.

There are some dramatic moments but the growing that these two do in their love for each other, their reactions to the people they both consider family is handled so well it was a pleasure to read and I can't wait for more. Carian Cole is a must-read author for me.

Like the blurb says - there is no underage shenanigans in this story (I have seen a few people worried about that bit!)

Carian Cole has certainly pushed the boundaries with Torn - and I absolutely freaking loved every moment of it.

Tor and Kenzi's love is a lifelong long love - it is just that the kind of love has shifted over the years. Some might call it twisted, sick, taboo. But to me it was just a beautiful love story, and I fell in love with her characters as they fell in love with each other.

"I have not past without him, I have not future without him."

Their connection was tangible, the emotions jumped from the pages. I could feel the the fluttering in Kenzi's stomach, I could feel their hearts beating in their chests, I could feel the love, the anguish they felt as they embarked on this wonderful but scary as s*** journey.

"You changed my entire life, Kenzi, and you've continued to do so."

I loved that we got snippits of the Ashes and Embers crew - oh Asher my heart ached for you. And I loved the intro we got to Tor's family.

I have read every book that Ms Cole has released, and each and every time I fall more and more under the spell of her writing. Torn had me on an emotional ledge from the first word to the last, and I was never quite sure when she was going to tip me over the edge. But it was worth every tear, every ounce of anger and hurt I felt.

And I am not going to lie, that last 10% wrecked me.

I can't wait to see what Ms Cole brings us next.

This was honestly one of the best love stories I have ever read. Not your typical book romance...this is a tale of evolving love, told so convincingly & honestly that you can't help but fall for the characters & wish for the happiest of endings. The author has written it perfectly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
