This is my 1st read and review for this author and it’s such a fantastic read. Halea grew up being stronger than the other children they teased her mercilessly but she had only one friend in Vang, but she knew that she will be in the dragon goddess’s service sealing the tears and killing demons she grew up with Varg him being her only friend. Now years later each thinking that the other family died when there was a tear meet up again and now Varg is the alpha of his pack, they love each other and Varg told Halea that she is his mate so now Halea is torn between duty and love. Fantastic story and I can’t wait to read book 2 and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Torn Apart is an engaging and layered text. The author gives enough background information about the lore in the story to keep the reader informed.

The beginning of the story is sweet and paints a vivid picture of the history between the two main characters. As a person who loves children's stories I was sad for the characters to grow up because this part of the story is so inviting and sincere.

Once the characters grow up the story takes on a different quality as an action and romance text. The villians are easy to imagine and fear. You can't help but root for the progragonists and the story ends in a devilish cliffhanger.

I can't wait to read the next two books!

Went into this expecting a super cheesy fantasy romance. But found great world building, interesting fantasy creatures, bonds of friends, and a couple I couldn't get enough of. Looking forward to more from Ms. Riddles.
