Product Description

Playing with fire gets you hot, but playing with a fireman gets you wet.

Fighting wildfires is dangerous as hell. If I f*ck it up I get a hundred-foot wall of flame coming at me with nowhere to run, no escape, and no rescue - but it’s still the best damn job in the world.

And women? They practically line up to slide down my pole. I never did like repeating myself.

Not since she broke my heart into a thousand pieces, anyway.

Clementine’s that ex. The one I haven’t seen in eight years. The one I thought I was going to marry until she dumped my ass while I was on active duty in Afghanistan.

The one who’s suddenly next door when my crew has a few days off in her tiny town, and who’s impossible to ignore.

She’s still hotter than any fire I’ve ever fought, still the same feisty, whip-smart, headstrong girl I fell for all those years ago.

We already went down in flames once, but I’ve never wanted anyone like I want Clementine. Not even close.

F*ck it. I need to have her again, even if it’s just one more time, and to hell with the consequences.

I’ve already gotten burned once.

Hunter and I were over a long, long time ago, and there was a good reason why. Actually, there were a hundred good reasons, and I remember them all.

Until he shows up in my town, eight years older and ten times hotter. He’s left the Marines to become a wildlands firefighter. He’s rugged, hardened, dangerous, and...

…he looks at me just like he used to. He makes me laugh just like he used to, like the last eight years may as well have been eight minutes.

And when he gets close, I can’t help but think of everything else we used to do - the sweaty, naked, toe-curling things. The way he could take me from laughing to moaning in half a second.

But I know better than to think that people like Hunter change. I don’t care how wild this attraction is or how badly I want him, I’m not going down that road again.

Playing with this kind of fire may get me hot — my God does it get me hot — but it also gets me burned, and once was enough.

...or was it?

Torch is a 90,000-word, full-length standalone novel with a happily ever after ending and some seriously smoking hot scenes.

High school romances sometimes peter out forever and sometimes feelings stay buried in your heart until you have a second chance to rekindle a love that is true. This titillating tale has a bit of family drama, life-threatening danger, suspense, action, fun times, tears, jealousy, and hot blazing sensual romance. There are a few hurdles to conquer before the happy ever after comes to pass.

Hunter and Clementine were high school sweethearts until he joined the marines and insecurities tore them apart. Clementine is now a Communications Ranger for the Copper Creek Forest Service Division working in Lodgepole. Hunter is a firefighter for the Canyon Country Hotshot Crew now taking up their residence right next store to Clementine. When they see each other for the first time after eight years desire swirls in each of their hearts. Clementine swears to stay away from Hunter remembering the past not wanting a repeat performance. Hunter has his mind set on having the sassy hazel-eyed beauty, but will jealousy and petty arguments keep them apart?

The author immediately hooks you with witty dialogue and powerful vivid scene descriptions. The romance between Clementine and Hunter certainly has ups and downs but working through their issues made them stronger as a couple; their second chance is filled with fiery passion, devotion, and respect. I loved them together. The author does an excellent job showing how admitting when you are wrong and communication is imperative in a healthy loving relationship. The story itself is impressive where the author gives insight into firefighting and evacuation techniques and the dangers that come with the jobs. This story was a joy to read, very entertaining. If you enjoy second chance romances this is a fabulous book for your library.

Don't get me wrong with the lower rating....I did enjoy this book however I found it let me down towards the end. I think I expected perhaps a little more romance or something from these two. I mean even the proposal was lame. How disappointing! Yes these two were hot together but I didn't feel as attached to their characters as I'd have hoped. Even the fact that Hunter didn't even defend Clementine when his mother treated her so poorly. I would have thought he would have made his feelings more clearer to his parents but what does he do...he tells them they're engaged before they get engaged just so they realise they're really staying's a bout just tell the parents that she's the love of his life and they need to accept that and be a hell of a lot nicer.

A really enjoyable well written read with some great touches of humour. Second chance love knocks on the door for Clementine and Hunter who parted on bad terms 8 years previously when Hunter was on deployment in Afghanistan.
What I really enjoyed was the maturity these two showed in discussing their past and how they went forward into the future. Admitting they were too young and immature and needy was a refreshing change. This is not to say they managed to reached their HEA without some tension and hiccups but also not full of silly I can’t get over what you said/did angst.
Clementine especially had matured once she got over her jealousy at the start. It may be due to her job as a ranger but Clementine was good with Hunter being a hotshot fire fighter even though it was dangerous. Hunter was a typical man enjoying the attention he received due to his job. The freedom of sex with women whose names he did not remember the next morning. Still a bit hot headed and resentful of authority but by the end of the story he had gone through a harrowing ordeal and also grown up.
A truly enjoyable story that I had to finish before I could get to bed.
