Here's a really simple recipe for cold brew coffee:
1. Add 2/3 cup of ground coffee beans to a French press
2. Add 3 cups of room temperature water (filtered water is best)
3. Lightly stir the grinds - a chopstick or small spoon works well
4. Place the French press plunger on top, but DON'T press the plunger down yet
5. Let the coffee sit at room temperature for 12-24 hours
6. Press down on the plunger and push all the grounds to the bottom
7. Pour out your liquid gold and enjoy
Be sure to store any cold brew in a separate container in the refrigerator, as it's not ideal to store it in the french press with old grounds. Pro tip: The coffee grounds are great to put in a small bowl to "de-funk" your fridge. Just leave them in there uncovered for a day or two, and your fridge will be smelling great.
Overall, this coffee has a great flavor when cold brewed - not bitter, but rather chocolatey with some nice complex notes. It's also great knowing that this company has a "negative footprint" when it comes to obtaining this coffee, and thousands of trees are planted as a result. Organic, great tasting coffee without harm to the environment. I'd say that's a win.
Great product; highly recommended. 5 stars.
The flavor is smooth and rich. I put not quite a cup of grounds in an ice coffee brewer with just under a liter of filtered water. 12-14 hours later I've got delicious coffee to enjoy year round. If you haven't tried iced coffee brewed the RIGHT way, try this. You'll be converted instantly.
This makes pretty good coffee; I don't think it's comparable to the local artisan coffee we get locally, so I will probably try another product after I'm finished with this. I think I also prefer a darker roast, and even after brewing this in my cold brew pitchers for over 24 hours, it was still lighter than I was looking for. However, I do greatly appreciate the product's carbon negative aspect, and I wish more companies would follow suit.
I'm currently cutting back on the number of sodas I have a day to see if I can cut them out for good but I still needed caffeine for the headaches.
Enter in cold brewed coffee. I tried it with my regular ground coffee from the grocery store but it was just eh. It was kind of bitter and needed lots of cream to enjoy. So I googled, I searched and read and read. I stumbled upon an article that led me to this coffee right here. And I am SO glad I found it.
The negative carbon footprint was a selling point but when I got the package in from Amazon and I could smell the grounds through the box - I knew I found it. I cleaned out my cold brew maker and put some of this in there and let it sit for 15 hours in my fridge.
What came out was a beautiful elixir; smooth and extremely good tasting. Like I said, I'm not a coffee drinker but this may have converted me.
I added non dairy creamer and some coconut milk whipped cream to the top and it was so dang good. I no longer need to spend $6 on a coffee at coffee shops.
Dear Tiny Footprint Coffee,
I really hope you take notice that my Subscribe n Save went from 5 bags a month to 1 bag.
Don't get me wrong~I love your cold brew coffee, but NOT at over $16 bucks a bag! (over $14 on S&S)
I can order Zabar's light & dark roast coffee with free delivery for $11.98 a bag. Zabar's!
I know you plant trees when we order. I know it's organic. I simply cannot afford it at these prices.
Please rethink/reevaluate your pricing. Thank you
I am fairly new to cold brew, but in the last few months have experimented with several different brands & roasts. They all taste good, don't get me wrong, but, this is by far, the best tasting cold brew coffee EVER! It's smooth, mellow, tasty and I just want to drink more.
Dear Tiny Footprint: If you ever need a spokesperson-Pick Me! I will yell how delicious it is from the rooftops! Yes, it's that GOOD!
