I was so happy to get another book in the Lark Cove series, especially one about Sofia Kendrick. She really wasn't that much of a likeable character when we first met her in Tattered - she came across as a spoilt princess, more the black sheep of the family when compared to her successful older siblings. I just knew the author was going to somehow make me love her.
Sofia isn't known for making good decisions - she has failed marriages behind her, she has no real direction in life, and then she suffers a public humiliation that has her running to Montana to escape. Sofia gets a major reality check as to how others view both her and her lifestyle. I love that she didn't give up - sure, she's emotional at times, but she throws all her energy into working and learning new life skills.......which she basically had zero of.
Dakota is a great guy - Initially he feels like he has been saddled with Sofia, and he's not happy about it. It doesn't take long for him to start to soften towards her. I was expecting Dakota to be my fav character, but by the end of Tinsel, I loved Sofia more than I was expecting . She really came into herself throughout the story, and she is VERY patient and understanding with Dakota towards the end. I love the Bonus Epilogues this author gives the reader - just that little bit more story makes me really happy.
