This book is impossible to put down once you've read the first paragraph. Vince Bugliosi has an outstanding ability to articulate what's going through his own mind and an incredible sense of what must be going through another's mind. His grasp of human nature and his willingness to humble himself, make him so accessible and powerful! When you read through this book, you will have a great sense of what has transpired over a good span of time, and in my opinion, you will not be left with any doubt that he made all the right decisions during the trial of these villains. If you're a fan of true crime, this is among the best I've read! It's fantastic.
One of my favorite books of all time - I bought it to read yet again! I feel it’s a masterpiece better than Helter Skelter. If you like true crime novels that follow the police through the investigation - and the lawyers into the courtroom - then this is for you. The chapter quoting Bugliosi’s final summation in the courtroom is the best!
I'm a fan of Vincent Bugliosi, the legendary former prosecutor-turned-author who might best be known for his prosecution of the Charles Manson family and the subsequent blockbuster classic true-crime, HELTER SKELTER.
TILL DEATH US DO PART is, in my opinion, an even better true-crime book based upon a two-defendant double murder prosecution during Bugliosi's time with the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office. Though a lesser-known crime, it is as fascinating, as horrific, as senseless as the Manson family murders, if not colder, more callous and calculating, as the victims were the spouses of the two suspects in this case.
Bugliosi takes us through the crimes and then brings us into the courtroom for the whole affair, providing insight into trial strategies, obstacles, and unexpected twists and turns. When you get near the end, believing you've now heard the whole story, there is an encore presentation that I personally found shocking (but won't tell you any more than that).
This is a must-read for any true-crime fan, and it perhaps could serve as a training manual for law students and prosecutors everywhere.
