Product Description

It is 2217. Civil War rages in London, England. The Pearson family in the East set their might against the Renzo stronghold in the West. Blood, destruction, death and toil. Many face the storm; few emerge in one piece.

Raphael Renzo, Morpher and youngest son of the famed Lord Renzo, leads his warriors into battle against the blood-thirsty, malevolent forces of thugs and hooligans who threaten to destroy everything he seeks to protect and all he holds dear. There can only be one outcome: victory. But Raphael must be careful; for the road to victory is rife with snares and not all is what it seems...

A tale of honour, love and betrayal, this is the thrilling sequel to Sarah Brownlee’s ‘How the Wolf Lost Her Heart’ and shows the depths both villain and hero will plunge to, one for supremacy, the other to defend those he loves.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great addition to a fantastic series 10 January 2016

Wow. Once I started reading 'How the Tiger Faced His Challenge' I could not put this book down. After I read book one, 'How the Wolf Lost Her Heart', I knew I had to read this book. A great series. The storyline was fantastic. It was full of action, betrayal, awesome Morphers, love, mystery and a pretty creative backstory about the characters and London itself. Set in the future, the descriptive nature that Sarah Brownlee uses to bring her story to life was unique and believable. The war itself brought devastation, terror, lives lost and it left destruction in its wake. The characters were awesome. Skye was a great lead. She's a headstrong woman and a badass wolf. Rafael was also a badass character. Loved his spirit animal the tiger. Plus he's hot as all get out. I look forward to reading more. The cliffhanger left me wanting to pull my hair out... So be warned. A great add to your tbr list. Definitely recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars Does Good Always Win? 8 February 2016
By Chessy The Cat - Published on
Good vs. Evil. Spies. Kidnapping. Mad Scientist. Love. History. Honor. Friends. Betrayal. War. What more could you ask for? This books seems to have it all. It is the year 2217 and Raphael Renzo’s family is on the brink of civil war in the heart of London against Lord Pearson and his gangs of thugs.

Brownlee’s second book, How the Tiger Faced His Challenge continues the dystopian fantasy of Skye Archer and Raphael Renzo. Both are among the few who have the ability to morph into their spirit animal. She a wolf, he a Bengal tiger. Skye’s impulsiveness sets off a series of events that escalates an already explosive tension between the two factions fighting for control of London. Will Good win against Evil, especially when things are not as they seem?

The pace of the book starts off rather slowly, but when it takes off it goes full speed ahead. The plot twists were well placed and unexpected. There was a great deal of immaturity exhibited among the younger characters in the book given their ages. A lot of the thought process was separated out by parenthesis which I found annoying. And, there were a number of timeline inconsistencies.

It was an interesting book, but not such that I could not put it down. While you did not need to read the first book in the series to enjoy this one, you will have to read the next to complete the storyline.
4.0 out of 5 stars You will fall in love with him even more 28 April 2016

I was given a copy by the author in exchange for an honest review.

In this one we get to know Raphael a little more and also his background. At a young age he had some hard choices to make and it showed how brave and strong he was. You will fall in love with him even more. We are introduced to new charcaters and enemies and the twists that are this one will throw you for a loop. I really enjoyed this book. The writing is well done and will be kept intrigued for the whole book. The ending will definitely shock you and I can't wait for the next part.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great and enjoyable sequel to an amazing book. And it was, oh, so tense and hard to put down in the end. 12 January 2017

Great and enjoyable sequel to an amazing book. And it was, oh, so tense and hard to put down in the end.

This one was different than the first one. The focus of the story was more on growing felings and relationships between two main characters Skye and Raphael in How the Wolf Lost Her Heart. Of course, the coming war, the history and politics were mentioned too, but it didn't seem that much of importance, it was more of the surrounding for a beautiful love story. And it was quite the opposite in this book. Yes, there was still love story in here, but somehow it took the second position in here, or at least seemed to gradualy go from the first position in the beginning of the book to the second by the middle and the end of the book. The main focus became coming war, secret plans of the opponent, and finally the beginning of the war. This one book was darker and heavier in topics covered, in events happening. I liked it how author described war and what it brings to the people involved. I enjoyed finding deep thoughts like these about the war:
"like most imagined things that were brought into reality, it was not what any had expected. War... was there any glory to be had in war?"

I found one of the main characters, Skye, somehow less likeable for me this time. Her stubborness and flaws seemed to be more eminent than in first book, and it caused more problems this time. Well, it showed how small actions of her and of other people can create great damage to the others. That I can say was important topic to cover. Maybe I didn't like that so much because it made me think more about my own flaws.

There were some sentences, where it was written a little bit too straightforward, similar like in the first book. I would have liked it given in a little bit more subtle way, to read more between the lines. But I think there wasn't that much of this in this book.

In the end, I enjoyed this story a lot, and I'm interested in next story.

I really loved this one! I'm so happy to see Skye and Raph grow into their own, and the depth of their feelings for each other makes my heart sigh with happiness. I think it is best to have read the first book because it will help you better understand Sky and Raph, and how they became a couple. In this book, Skye and Raph have been dating for awhile, and although Skye has come a long way with her confidence, she still has moments of self-doubt, but she is trying to find her way in Raph's world. It also doesn't help that her wolf is a little bit aggressive. The thugs are continuing to cause problems, and Raph has bodyguards looking after Skye and her mom, but when some power players for the bad side start upping their game, the possibility of a war brewing becomes more and more of a reality. I love that Skye and Raph are Morphers, and I love the scenes when they are in animal form and are together. The depth of love Raph has for Skye is so sweet, and I love how he isn't afraid to show Skye how he feels. I hope in the next book Skye evolves even more, and she shows more of what her wolf is capable of. I loved how involving this story is, and the writing is great, and I find the whole story really unique. There are some very brutal things that happen in this book, and we are left with a cliffhanger, so I definitely need the next book!
