4.0 out of 5 stars SCORCHING SHORT 10 February 2015
By Jennifer Schaber - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The was a quick, exciting and seemingly effortless erotic short. There's not a lot of character development because it's not a novel, but there is enough that it's a story and not just a sex scene...or several sex scenes. This was well written and we get not only physical stimulation but also mental stimulation for both the reader and Layla. The only negative for me was that it ended. I would have loved to know a little more about Hunter and seen what actually happens at the club and after. This one goes onto my coveted re-readable shelf, and I'll be looking for more from Kate St. James.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tea for Three is Hot! 31 May 2012

After you Read Tea for Three, you're going to need to add some ice to cool you down! This is a seriously erotic story. Yet, while the immediate action takes place during one amazing and highly pleasurable encounter in a menage a trois, the book is about so much more. You actually learn about the characters and get a sense of where they have been, what they are doing in the moment and where they go from here. This book is about sexual exploration, enjoyment and what we do for love. Not only that, it's so hot that you'll want to read it again.
3.0 out of 5 stars Sexy characters and panty-dropping-hot scenes 19 January 2015

I love reading ménage stories and this one was definitely a good one. As I said before it's a quick story so it can be easily read in one pull. But of course since it's so short there isn't much room for things as character development. I would've liked to know more about Layla, Gil and Hunter. Especially Hunter intrigued me. That man was seriously hot. A story for Layla's friend and co-worker Siri was also set in the beginning so I wouldn't mind reading that one too sometime.

Overall, Tea for Three by Kate St. James was an easy to read story from Ellora's cave with sexy characters and panty-dropping-hot scenes. Definitely a quick story that I enjoyed.
1.0 out of 5 stars I really can't spend any more time talking about this book because it got deleted off my devices the 2nd I finished reading it 19 February 2015

I really hate books that are marketed as romances and are really just 30 pages of sex. In fact that irritates me so much that I often remove the author from any type of watchlist because I dislike the marketing. So what if I got the galley for free? I cannot market these types of books due to the cost as well as the content. Even 99 cents is too high for 30 pages of sex with no character growth, development, plot, etc. In fact they don't even have to have names.

Basically Layla has a boyfriend named Gil. Gil brings Hunter (a partner) to the tea shop and the three have sex.

That's it. That is the entire plot. It's a lot of people getting wet and horny and doing stuff about it. Layla is basically a bunch of holes. There is also some sort of dominance thing going on that feels out of place.

I really can't spend any more time talking about this book because it got deleted off my devices the second I finished reading the 37 pages. I do not recommend this one.

3.0 out of 5 stars Tea for Three 5 November 2012

Review originally posted at Romance After Dark, a Romancing the Book site

Tea for Three was a very quick read... in fact, it didn't even feel like 40 pages. Well, it's a Quickie from Ellora's Cave... which really says it all.
So the blurb really says it all. Layla and Gil are dating, and it's probably her first serious relationship. But to spice things up in the bedroom, Gil decides to bring in his best friend and business partner, Hunter. Where Gil is smooth and refined, Hunter is wild and tattooed.
Within the first chapter the heat is turned on and it simmers until the last page. There is a touch of back story, to make the characters a little more real. But outside of this encounter and the taking of a next step in a relationship, there really isn't much growth. However, when picking up a Quickie, I never really expect that. I want down and dirty sex. And this book does deliver. Layla, Gil and Hunter tear up the sheets. And through it all, I learned a new term. Who knew what ""teabagging"" was? I sure didn't. But I know now.
This is a solid book for what it is... a short novella. I, personally, could have used a little more plot and character development. But all-in-all, it was enjoyable.
