Too complex for tots.

Goes into more detail than 14/15 year olds are taught (i.e. endoplasmic reticulum and peroxisomes) and so is beyond what a "tot" would be able to say never mind spell. I'd say it goes too far.

Dr. Thomai Dion takes an abstract topic and makes it tangible for young readers. For an elementary student, this books engages by asking questions, teaches with repetition in prose and provides imagery with words. For teachers, this book is a great resource for use as an introduction to a classroom unit on cells. Bravo!

Thomai's gift for writing may only be matched by her ability to create vibrant, eye-catching illustrations. My little one was completely captivated.
