As above, so below Trouble a star, watch it explode. The harbinger sours the earth is bowed, There is chaos in the heavens. there is chaos on the soil. -Things That Should Stay Buried by Casey L. Bond
WOW, what an amazing story this was and by far my absolute favorite!!
The characters were phenomenal!! Getting to know Larken and her brother Kes was quite the wild ride!! There were amazing characters that I absolutely fell in love with. OMG and the feelers between Larken and Aries were HAWT!!! I felt as if I could connect with these characters on a personal level. I could actually FEEL what they were feeling during the times they were feeling them. I laughed, smiled and cried with these characters during the story.
"There are things that should stay buried. We are among them."-Aries
And boy, no truer words could ever be spoken.
The story-line, well all I can say without giving anything away was pure genus!! How would the world today be able to handle the Zodia if they were truly real and we were forced to live under their reign depending on what zodiac sign you were born under? Just imagine that for one split second....I know for a fact that we couldn't though the characters within this story did. I am a Leo and to think I would be living under Leo's rules and without my friends and family would be horrible. I shiver just thinking about it. It was so remarkable how Bond brought this story alive and made it feel real!! I still can't get over how real it truly felt and how everything came together in the end. I on the edge of mu seat the entire time, routing for the good guys and the twisted plot made it that more entertaining and addicting!! And the ending, wow....what a beautiful ending it was!! For sure the title of this story fit the story-line perfectly!! I enjoyed it so very much and am so happy about the ending and I highly recommend this read!!
Such a fantastic read! Casey L Bond has done it again. Imagine waking up one day and everyone you know has disappeared, only to find out they haven't actually just disappeared but that they've been designated to 12 separate areas ruled by the Zodia whose sign they were born under. Your parents may each be under a new rule, your siblings, your friends, and you're now partitioned off with a bunch of strangers, learning to survive in this new world while grieving those you may never see again. The Zodiac, gods based on the 12 zodiacs, each portray their longtime characteristics of the zodiacs we're all familiar with. Luckily for Larken, her brother (who isn't really her brother) is guardian for Aries instead of the awful Zodia she should be assigned to, and she's offered protection. What happens next, you'll have to read to find out. Great story with lots of emotion, romance, betrayal, and some very interesting characters.
I went into this wondering how this tale was going to spin. I’m a huge fan of the zodiac. I am a Taurus so I’m kind of glad this hasn’t happened here lol. But anyways this book is awesome! Larken is a fun character who I felt grew as the story progressed. She helped Aries understand a different perspective on life. The imagination used on the zodiac in this book made me imagine them in real life and made the story even better!
I have read everything that Casey Bond has written. I have loved them all! I enjoy an author who can make you feel instantly engaged in a book that you never want to put down. After you finish a book you miss being a part of the world she has created. Things That Should Stay Buried is no different. It has created a brand new world for me to delve into unlike anything I've read. I love the way she created the world of the Zodia and brought them to life in vibrant and creative ways. If you love a good escapist fantasy novel, you have to read this book!!
What an unbelievable story!!! I loved the twist of zodiac signs used in this story. And our girl Larken was incredible. There is nothing I love more than a greatly told fantasy story. This one nailed it.
