Kim Karr
Five Amazing Stars
I was absolutely thrilled to enjoy this wonderful new romance written by one of my favourite authors, Kim Karr. This wonderful medical tale involving such a gorgeous most sexiest doctor. I was just so excited to read this excellent book!
Jules Easton was so very stressed. She’s is trying to convince herself to relax, to be calm. She knew herself that she was planned and ready to meet this woman for the meeting that was previously arranged. This woman who was now engaged to the son of a Governor. To be their Wedding Planner. Jules was still amazed and completely surprised and shocked about this wonderful chance to work with famous or even well known people.
Dressed so confidence ready for her first meeting. Walking down the street seeing these gorgeous, attractive homes where Jules was to meet Rory Kissinger at the Bride Box, a most wonderful Wedding Bakery itself. Jules was filled with complete excitement smelling all the gorgeous flavours.
She was formally greeted by Montgomery, a well dressed mature man. Who was very sweet and congenial towards the ladies. It was together that both Montgomery and Jules would enjoy a piece of this fabulous chocolate cake before she meet up with the Wedding Party.
I thoroughly adored this most wonderful, most romantic, fabulous book. I loved all the amazing characters throughout. Couldn’t once put this book down. It was simply such a brilliant book to enjoy. Well done Kim Karr!!!!
* I recommend this book to everyone!!

This was a first read for me by this author.
Guilt & abandonment can change how we see our world & taint our perceptions of love.
"I’d learned that love wasn’t just one thing . . . it could be many things. It could or could not conquer all. It could be patient or impatient. It could be kind or ugly. It could be happy and it could be sad."
Definitely recommend

Need to read more of Ms. Karr's books after finishing this one. What an incredible story!
Reviewed in Australia on 4 January 2018
When Juliette 'Jules' Easton is hired to plan a wedding in just five weeks, she doesn't expect the bride to make her team up with the woman's brother. Yet, seeing as she's stuck with him, Jules is determined to make the most of the situation. However, she never imagined she'd fall for the arrogant and cocky doctor. Will Jules be able to convince Jake Kissinger that they deserve a shot at happy ever after, or are his plans for his future too important for him to stick around and find happiness with Jules?
This is the first book I've read by Ms. Karr, and what a book it was. Really, it was incredibly well-crafted, compelling and a wonderful combination of intense moments and playful banter that made this story an absolute page turner right from the beginning to the end. The way this story started had me hoping for the best for the heroine, because she needs things to go her way due to what's happening with the family business. Will she be able to turn things around? Will she be able to handle planning a wedding with Jake? However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine met where this story got very interesting, as the heroine doesn't make the best first impression when she meets Jake. Will he give her another chance to prove herself, especially after her case of mistaken identity?
As for the main characters, both are relatable, incredibly likeable and I loved every moment they conversed, especially in the beginning because there's a bit of discord between them because of what happened when they first meet. Moreover, the heroine is resilient when it comes to her job and being able to go on after the loss she suffered in her past. I also liked how determined she was to create the perfect day for the bride, because if she doesn't, she could lose everything important to her; and I also enjoyed the challenge she and Jake provided each other, as it creates wonderful sexual tension between them that eventually spills over onto the pages in fan-your-face sex scenes that spice up the story. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was that she would do anything for those she loves, which is proven by what she does for one of her family members.
While the hero, he's been through so much in his life and the guilt he's felt over what happened to his father has him determined to follow in the man's footsteps. Will Jake be happy with the choice he makes? Moreover, the hero is also confident, cocky and I loved how he would do anything for family, because his gran and sister are important to him. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is that he opened up to the heroine about his past and how readers learn how connected their past is because they both lost people to one of the most terrible tragedies.
Overall, Ms. Karr has delivered a must read in this book where the ending left me completely satisfied, as the hero realizes he can't live without Jules in his life. I also liked how the ending of this story helps the pair to heal from the hurts of their pasts because of what the hero discovers. I would recommend The Thing About Love by Kim Karr, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Vi Keeland, Penelope Ward, Lauren Blakely and Meghan March.

It is always a good day when a new Kim Karr story turns up on your kindle.
A grumpy doctor who doesn't want to be near her. The wedding planner who doesn't believe in love any more.
Yep, you can just feel right from the first slice of cake that there is going to be sparks between our lovelies.
I adore our lovely wedding planner Jules. She is completely adorable in her slightly clumsy ways. I couldn't help but love her.
Jake.. le sigh. He made me want to get sick so I could go find him at my local ER!
There are great secondary characters rounding out Jake and Jules' story. I freaking love love love Monty and Archer and they need their own book stat!
There is also Jule's cousin Finn and her ex Jaxson that I need more of - soon.
There is just something about this story that I loved. It is not something I can put my finger on and say "that's it!". The Thing About Love just as a wonderful vibe about it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book from the first word to the last.
I wanted more.
Please give me more, Ms Karr. And don't make me wait too long (I know, greedy and impatient here!!)
I look forward to seeing what Ms Karr brings us next.

I'll read further because I like to give a book a fair chance
Reviewed in Canada on 18 April 2018Verified Purchase
Right from the start I found the writing juvenile and blah. I've only got a short distance into the book but yikes!
Throwing cake into a client's face? What? Is she fifteen? No wonder her business is failing. I wanted to misuse 'like' or fall into Valleyspeak but I know it's outdated, I just wish the author knew that as well.
Seriously, describing which leg they stand on as they enter a room, and then they shift their weight onto their other leg?? Come on! Where the heck else would they shift it unless they were going to hop? I'll read further because I like to give a book a fair chance, and I'll edit this if necessary, but so far I don't think that's going to happen.
What the heck is "a quell"?
My first book from Kim Karr, and if this is an example it will be my last. Genuinely baffled by the other reviews.

A love story that is so much more!
Reviewed in Canada on 6 January 2018Verified Purchase
Wow, an absolutely amazing story! This book gave so many different layers to each main character and made their connection so much deeper. I liked how they each had difficult scenarios they were currently going through and found ways to work through them together. I loved their dynamic and I loved Mimi and how she interacted with each of them. This story made me laugh out loud and swoon as well but it also made me cry and get choked up a lot! I don’t want to ruin anything so I won’t say much, but the turn it took surprised me and broke my heart! It was so gut wrenching to read but they way it helped heal them was so heartwarming and beautiful! Kim, you did an amazing job on this book! Definitely a must read to start off 2018!

This is the first book I have read from this author and I truly enjoyed it.
This is a heart stopping emotional read that is so full of emotion that I cried at a few points in this story. This author also made this a laugh out loud comedy in parts that were hysterical. The characters Jake and Juliette are fabulous. Both a little broken but not so imperfect that they can't see what is in front of them. You must read this book and follow these characters through their healing process and finding love and hope in their lives. There is a great cast of characters that I absolutely loved and I can hardly wait to hear their stories. All iin all this was a fun emotional well written book.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick short sexy and emotional read, this author is new to me but one will be coming back for.
