I usually really like this authors books but this one was just so slow. I felt like the first 30% of the book was the same thing and ended up skipping chunks just to get to the end. The story felt a bit disjointed to me, like I was missing something right from the beginning.

Struggled with the over the top angst in the first couple of chapters in this story but was really glad I stuck with it. Loved the setting and Tatum and Jack became much more likeable as we got to know them. Perhaps Tatum just needed to scream underwater a bit earlier in the story. I am so going to try that now!

Oooy, for the first time ever, I contemplated DNFing a Kristy Bromberg book, and that hurt my heart.
I enjoyed the prologue and was looking forward to where Tate's story was going to go.
And then we had the first 1/3 of the book, that was so repetitive and drawn out that it could have been all done in a couple of chapeters. It was at this stage that I first thought of giving up.
I put it aside, but it then took me more than a day to pick up the book again, as I knew I was going to struggle. However, I persevered, and it did get better.
I wanted to love Tate and Jack, but there just was not enough to get me there. Tate came across as whiney and stubborn, and ugh boy does she overreact. And all Jack's goodness and leading-man-ness got lost in all the overreactions and superfluous words.
Once the story got going, it fell into a state of predictability. I knew where the story was going to go well before it got there, and that also took out the enjoyment of the story. And got me to the eye rolling stage.
I did finish reading this one, but only just.

Today is the day I own my wild!

Tatum Knox is struggling to keep her ranch afloat. Her lying rat of a husband dies leaving a trail of debts behind him. The towns people hate her. They think she’s up her self and far too superior. Her family abandoned her. She’s alone and trusts no one but she refuses to be broken. I adored her spirit. She’s feisty and uncompromising.
Jack Sutton is making good a promise and sees Tatum as his way to right a wrong. He’s determined to save her ranch and make Tatum trust again. He’s easy on the eye and oh so much of a hero.
The story plays out in beautiful photographs. Snaps of horses roaming. A run down farm. A broken fence. Dirty jeans. Dirty hands. Sunsets over pastures. The tears of a woman who owns her wild. I could see them all.
Kristy Bromberg wrote a beautiful book about not giving up, about fighting for yourself, about hope and trust. The not giving up isn’t just about not giving up yourself; it’s about not giving up on others when they are down and need help.
It made my heart happy (after the tears).

Love , lies and new beginnings

Each time I read the latest book written by this author I think that was her best. This one is no exception. I think Jack Sutton is such a delicious alpha Male . His character is solid, strong, reliable, honest and trustworthy. However he has secrets, a past and responsibilities that keep hounding him. Tatum is very much a girl that appears to have everything, but bit by bit she looses nearly the lot. A widow, her husband lied, cheated and left her virtually penniless and the local town Lone Star made their own judgments following his deceit and lies. The story flows well and as ever is beautifully descriptive. The characters are believable , some good , some evil and some adorable. There are times when the emotional episodes are so graphic and tender that your temperature rises, and times when the tears flow freely and furiously. A completely compelling novel, one that grips you from the start, and find impossible to put down. I would love there to be more of these two characters but how can you improve on perfection. A fabulous book by a phenomenal author well worth a read. A stand-alone in many ways but possibly more stand out.

As with all of Kristy's books, I loved this one. I can't quite put my finger on it but it has a different feel to it compared to the rest of her books.
Tatum gives up her whole life to be with her boyfriend Fletcher. Her father gave her an ultimatum, either him or her family and inheritance. She was prepared to walk away from it all for him, and did.
The story picks up 5 years later, Fletcher died in a car accident a year before, and Tatum is struggling to keep her head above water. The town folk blame her for how her life has turned out, saying she must have known what her husband had been up to. What facts they didn't know, they made up, and made Tatum's life hell. Tatum however, is as stubborn as the day is long and is determined to make a go of it. She hires a new ranch manager, Jack Sutton. Both strong, determined and stubborn characters it makes an interesting working relationship!
A great story with a twist that I didn't see coming. Could not put this book down, a complete page turner!

I have been so looking forward to this new book from Kristy and OMG she didn't disappoint me. Once I started I was 100% hooked and heaven help anyone that interrupted me and expected me to adult!
This was different from her other books and I loved it so much. Kristy knocked it out of the park with this one. Her writing was flawless and she poured so much raw and real emotions into this one. I laughed, I cried and I really wanted to head to this small town of Lone Star and beat the residents for their treatment of Tatum!
Tatum has become one of my favourite heroines in this one. This girl and been beaten down and abandoned by the people that were supposed to love her. Understandably she doesn't trust anyone as people are lining up to kick her even more when shes down. Despite all this she is so amazingly strong, stronger then she actually thinks as she's still standing!
Jack, I loved him but didn't trust him to start. I couldn't work out his motives. I loved his tough alpha-male persona but I could understand why Tatum had her walls sky high and defensive. I'm glad Jack actually looked beyond the rumours and lies to see the truth and showed her that he had her back.
When Jack and Tatum finally get together I loved their connection and chemistry. It was off the charts hot even when they were denying it and challenging each other. They honestly were perfect together.
Well done Kristy Bromberg for this amazing emotional and heartbreaking story. She brought these characters to life beautifully cementing her place as one of my favourite 1-click authors.

Tatum had always lived by her fathers strict rules he wanted her to have a position in the family business and to marry a man chosen by him . That was not in Tatum’s plan she wanted to peruse a different career path and to marry Fletcher who she was madly in love with . Infuriated by her decision to leave home with Fletcher , she’s told by her father that if she goes then her monthly allowance and any further inheritance would be stopped ,needless to say she doesn’t stay . Tatum & Fletcher get married they also buy a farm with intention of turning it into a stud farm that Fletcher would run which would leave Tatum to peruse her love of photography . For a while things were looking good for the newly weds, but it doesn’t last, soon the cracks start to appear in the marriage , eventually Tatum realises that Fletcher is not the man she thought he was . The story has its fare share of personal tragedy for Tatum one being that Fletcher is killed in a car accident . From that point things go from bad to worse , now widowed, Tatum finds out just what her husband had been doing with the finances sadly now she’s in danger of loosing the farm . Trying to keep her head above water Tatum is in desperate need of a farm manager that’s when the gorgeous Jack Sutton knocks on her door to apply for the job , little does she know that his arrival will turn her life upside down , but in a good way . Jack seems to have the golden touch but his arrival at the farm is not as random as he’s made it out to be ...... Both Tatum & Jack have secrets that they are keeping from one another but it’s plain to see that they both are falling in love with one another . As we know secrets don’t stay secret for long when all secrets are revealed can there be a HEA for Tatum & Jack ? ........ I think you can guess the answer 😉😍😍.
