Product description

Product Description

Seventeen-year-old James and sixteen-year-old Alexandra Williams are devastated. It is the winter of 1889 and their Father and Mother have suddenly passed away. While grieving, the brother and sister must find some way to raise their younger siblings, manage the family farm, mourn, and still find their own path through life. It does not take long before James and Alexandra are overwrought in their efforts to raise Christine and Lee along with struggling to continue to mature themselves. Through heartaches, hardships, trials, and triumphs, the siblings attempt to face their inheritance and all its challenges by relying on their personal faith, using the values taught to them by their parents, trying to adhere to the structure of their daily life, and with guidance from scripture.

'“Forgive me, Lord. Make me strong and guide me. I don’t understand, but Ma always said you don’t give us more than we can handle. I hope I don’t disappoint you. Be patient with me. I promise to try harder to be courageous.  Amen,” she whispered. As the men threw the last shovel of dirt upon Ma, Alexandra whispered, “Goodbye, Ma. I love you.”
With that, she turned and walked towards the house.'

“Wuthering Heights meets Little House on the Prairie-
With every page turned, I felt transported to the past and was right beside Alexandra and her family through their whole journey. I felt sadness, anticipation, and relief, but was never satisfied in that by the end I wanted more!”
Suzanne T Jackson, The Jackson group, Inc.
