I have now read all 3 of the books in this series & I'm not for sure which is my favorite. What I didn't realize was that the books are not really a continuation one to the next, but sharing the same "theme " of reincarnation and one main character. The fact that I don't like that character didn't help matters.
This story centers about Lucian Glass, his current incarnation , the world of fine art, the Met and Lucian's circle of souls.
Lucian is a troubled soul both in the here and now & thru out several of his past lives. The ending left me with the feeling that he may finally be putting several of those lives to rest and getting a grip on the present one. ~P~

Another Good Reincarnation MysteryReviewed in the United States on 5 August 2013
This is another interesting, quick in the author's reincarnation series. I enjoyed the glimpse into the world of trafficking in stolen art and the dilemma museums face about returning artifacts to their original nations -- the provenance of pieces and how different it was in the past when no one questioned expeditions to remove these items.

Priceless art for ransom as the past clashes with the presentReviewed in the United States on 3 October 2014
(3.5 stars) The Hypnotist is the 3rd book in the Reincarnationist series. This book focuses on Lucian Glass, a member of the FBI’s Art Crimes division. We get to learn more about his past and how he ended up in the FBI with the revelation that his girlfriend was murdered in her father’s high end art framing shop and Lucian was severely beaten when he walked in on the crime. Lucian’s past is coming back to him when he is pulled into a case where priceless artworks, thought to be lost due to theft, are being held for ransom. The first of these has been cruelly damaged and sent to the museum as a warning. What the criminals want is a an ancient statue, worth nowhere near the value of the other art, except for what it contains which is another memory tool. Another party after the find is the Phoenix foundation member, Dr Malachi Samuels, who has been a nemesis for Lucian. Two lines of inquiry lead Lucian into the realm of reincarnation. Is a woman the reincarnation of his former girlfriend? And does Lucian have a past life that links him to one of the memory tools? Lucian must decide what is truth and what is fiction before the situation gets completely out of hand.
