Would not have guessed the secret!

I have never read a book by Liane Moriarty before - but I loved it from the first page. So well written; I loved the interplay between the 3 main groups of characters. I would never have guessed the contents of the letter which the successful mother stumbled across. It was meant to be opened on her husbands death but he was alive and clearly did not want her to open it. The ramifications of the words written in that letter were huge and could have resulted in many outcomes. The outcome chosen by Liane made for a great and believable story which changed the lives of all the characters - how they reacted and how they re-evaluated themselves and their views. I am now reading Big Little Lies by Liane and very much enjoying that too.

It was ok. The actual plot line was very good and if it was written better then it would have been more enjoyable. The author babbled on and on, i pretty much sped read this book and still know exactly what happened. There were pages, sometimes whole chapters of absolute rubbish that added nothing to the story.

An engaging page turner about our choices and path in life and the direction life takes. A decent read - good but not fantastic. I feel like it could have had a more climatic ending.

I did feel that this had a hint of Fay Wheldon about it. A good plot - not one I had come across before. The characters a bit irritating sometimes - but that's because perhaps they behaved in a way I did not want. The conclusion galloped towards the finish - and I felt left some bits out or might have told us more. Would make a good film.

Some characters cleverly drawn. Too many characters with similar names - had to keep backtracking to check who was who. Some insightful portrayals of cross generational relationships, sensitivities and small p politics. The denouement was probably a bit 'neat' and required some suspended disbelief. A ripping yarn and a good plane or train read.

quite interesting but miles too long and repetitive . end conclusions not clearly put. disappointing if as said david cameron read this 10 times it is a wonder he won election

the plot seemed very contrived and so many names to remember. They all blended into one. I was disappointed especially after reading little big lies

Didn’t really like this book. Found that it didn’t captivate me. I tried to read this book twice and had to leave and it go on to something else.

It was good but not amazing. I think this writer has a certain method to her writing so if you read a few of her books back to back they kind of seem the 'same,same'. But enjoyed it nonetheless - just not super gripping.

I thought this book was pretty predictable considering the main story line it took me awhile to get into it but l did enjoy the last half of the book
