The Flower girls by Dee Williams. A nice gentle story of twin sisters, Rose & Lily, although they are twins they are very different in many ways.
It is 1926, & Rose & Lily are celebrating their 16th birthday. they live with their parents & life is orderly, Rose works in a office, & loves life & the latest fashions, she admires her Supervisor miss Nora Evens, & longs to dress like she does. Lily, works in a flower shop, & is quite content to help her mother at home ,& not be going out like her Sister. their parents keep a strict eye on their daughters, as the story goes on we soon find Rose making up excuses to stay away for the night with friends, & Lily meets a shy young man with a complicated life. It is a story that keeps you interested as you just have to find out how its all going to end.

Very poor ending.

This was a lovely engrossing story only to be dismally let down by the very poor abrupt ending.
I would have loved to give it five stars but so many threads were left hanging.
Such a shame.

Great story!

I love Dee Williams books and this was no exception. A story that it was easy to imagine happening in a working class home in the 1920's era. If you are a Dee Williams fan you won't be disappointed, and if you've never read her books before, give this one a try!
