Texas Christmas Tycoon, third in Katherine Garbera’s Dangerous Delaneys series, is set in Last Stand in the Texas hill country. This is a story of healing as well as regaining the Christmas spirit for Braden Delaney, the 26 year-old COO of Outlaw Tequila. Braden has not enjoyed Christmas since his mother died when he was a child, but he’s prepared to put in an effort for his three year-old nephew Lane, whose parents were killed in a car crash earlier in the year. I liked Braden from the start. It was easy to see that he was a good guy despite his player reputation and I liked the way he worked to show Lea Dunwoody just how much she meant to him.
Lea was also likeable from the start. You could see she’d built a protective shell around herself not only to stop herself from being hurt but to stop herself from acting like her mother, who made a habit of changing her men as often as her underwear.
This story is very much character driven, with all the push and pull coming from Braden and Lea as they learn to love each other and to heal their past hurts. With the Christmas spirit playing a big secondary role in this story there was plenty to enjoy, but honestly this book would work any time of the year.

This is a superb story that draws you in and keeps you engaged Braden Delaney may be a tycoon but he is also a man with walls as large as Texas protecting a heart that has always belonged to the one girl he has always wanted
Lea Dunwoody is the typical girl next door but lately she has had a thing for the bad boy of the town Braden Delaney what she doesn't know is that he has always wanted her ever since they where young Can she break through his walls will he let her in when he thinks that he is no good for her You will have to read to see if they have a future together
I was given a copy of this book but this is a true and honest review

Two and a Half Stars

At the time of purchase, there were no 1 & 2 star reviews. Since then, I totally agree with them. The names of two of the characters are so close they kept me thinking about what was happening to who, and totally took me out of the story. The H and h had so much back and forth with their emotions that a person could develop whiplash. Many better stories out there - felt like I wasted my time.

Reflective holiday story

I don’t know how much it was the story, the season, or just me, but this story really pulled at my heartstrings. There were a few spots I got downright teary especially when it came to little Lane.
This is a family story. I read it as a stand-alone and it was fine but I get the sense there are other books explaining the pairings of the other adults.
Holidays make you think of the past especially people that figured prominently in our lives but are no longer with us. This story brought out those thoughts for me.

Good, but a real tear-jerker

This story hit me hard, especially when it came to little Lane. The Holidays are always very hard for those that are all alone in the world, and those who've lost loved ones. There were parts where little Lane was asking the hard questions that no one really knows how to answer, especially when that child is only 3 Yrs. old, and those had me bawling like a baby.Heck, Braden wasn't much older than Lane is now, when his mom got sick and died, and now in his mid- 20's he still isn't over that. And for Lane to be questioning Braden, boy did it tear me up.
As far as Lea and Braden go? I'm glad they took things slow, because they both had major issues to overcome before they would be able to fully commit to anyone, or else it will surely end in a disaster.

Not Much Story

I do enjoy a good Christmas story, but this one was not a favorite. The characters thoughts were so redundant and rehashed over and over again. It got be like a broken record with the only purpose of making the story long enough to be called a book.
