This so called women rights heroine,who was extremely easy to manipulate by the men in the story, pretending to be the though woman fighting for a cause, but could not even stand up for herself when it mattered!!! After easily jumping into bed with the hero then proceeded to blame him for being like all the other men in life , of whom she had none !!! She is such a boring predictable character, Jude deveraux's style have changed so much and become so boring and predictable, can't bear to read them anymore!!'n

I really love Jude Deveraux's historical work: Temperance is a headstrong, intelligent and feisty character but I also loved her sense of humor and adventure. I particularly liked James and Temperance together, because they balance each other so well. I found the characters in the book appealing and well-written, and this remains one of my favourite Deveraux novels to date.
