Deep, dark and a vivid insight into a different reality. I was particularly drawn to the dark and terrible struggle the character, Adam faces. I would recommend this dystopian novel for anyone who enjoys the complexity of the human struggle mixed with suspense and action. Looking forward to a part 2 from the author.
The Tears of Regret is a fascinating mishmash of a novel (and I mean that in a good way). Part action, part horror, much philosophy, the narrative bounces from place to place and idea to idea, never letting the reader sit comfortably for long.
Cameron Solnordal's writing style is compelling and infectious, and makes you want to keep turning the pages. I was always interested in what was happening and what was going to happen next. The final fifty or so pages are fabulous, and the conclusion of the novel is both thought-provoking and disturbing.
If you can imagine a cross between "Fight Club" and "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" then you will probably enjoy The Tears of Regret. I look forward to what Cameron Solnordal has to offer us next.

Imaginative, complex and challenging. A narrative which responds to issues in this century, of society's health, wealth, politics, and of loyalties. For me it's written in colours of grey and black and perhaps there's a silver lining. I look forward to this author continuing to explore in a further novel what he has begun.
