It's amazing how a soulmate changes your perspective on life. It was a feel good type of story. I believe there will be more of this couple in bk 3 & Nicole & Avery's is the next. I wasn't disappointed.

Easton has been through a lot and now he has sworn off relationships and wants to spend as much time being a good father to his ten year old daughter. He’s a massive player though and prefers to have sex with a woman and send them on their way.
The chemistry was explosive as soon as they both meet. I was gripped with the storyline as well as reading to see whether they would give in to temptation while on the cruise even though Brooke has a boyfriend. It’s such a great read and one that I can definitely recommend.
Easton is a model and marries his high school sweetheart Dana. They have a beautiful little girl however because of his “whoring” ways, Dana files for divorce. It’s a long battle specially since she wants full custody of their little girl and Easton will have none of that. He won’t lose his baby girl. She is his world! On the final day of their divorce proceedings, tragedy strikes and Easton is left to be a single parent. If it wasn’t for his best friend Avery, he would have been lost.
Brooke is a strong woman who was forced to raise her little sister because her mother was too concerned about her own life that that of her daughters. She is turning 30 years old and is in a loveless relationship. Her boyfriend of 4 years hasn’t once spoken about marriage. At aged 30, a woman should be married with at least 1 child already… right? Well Jared doesn’t seem to think her biological clock is ticking anytime soon. His life consists of “Call of Duty” games and nothing else. What a jerk!!!
Nicole is Brooke’s best friend. She dislikes Jared with everything that is human and she decides to surprise Brooke with a cruise for her birthday. Eight blissful days with no worries in the world… only she doesn’t tell Brooke that this happens to be a “singles cruise” I love a good “plot” tee-hee!
Avery is on a quest to find “The one” and books a cruise for him and Easton. Easton isn’t interested in finding a woman. He likes his life just the way it is until now….
There is so much story to read… Tragedy, sadness, loss, lies, deceit, love and so much passion.
The details about the cruise was epic. I was on a cruise August last year and while the story was playing out, I could imagine standing where the characters were. I could see myself sitting at the dining table with other guests. The reference to songs in this story, had me scrambling to Google to just listen to what Easton was listening too and it was perfect.
This was the first book I read by this author and enjoyed it very much. The fact that it was based on true events… wow….
Kimberly writes with her heart. I felt the pain and loss while reading the story. I felt the emotional impact of what each character was experiencing.
I am looking forward to reading about Avery and Nicole next…
I'd give it more stars if I could.Kimberly pulled me into Brooke and Eastons story from the first pages.I fell for Easton right from the first page and his best friend Avery is a close second!!
Easton used to be a model,he married young put his career and himself before his family now years later after an awful tragedy hes learning to be a better man and father.
Avery convinces him to go on a singles cruise with him. Avery's hoping to find “the one”.
Brooke I loved her character shes in a dead end relationship with Josh but shes loyal, smart kind and funny her bestie Nicole persuades her to go on a singles cruise with her Brooke s reluctuant but agrees its on this cruise all their lives change….
Avery and Nicole hit it off straight away are inseparable leaving Brooke and Easton dangling….but they decide to spend their time together they are both drawn to each other Easton doesn’t want to go looking elsewhere but Brooke wont cheat either,so they build up a friendship they talk and confide in each other spend all their time together fighting the growing attraction on the last night of the cruise Easton kisses Brooke like shes never been kissed but she is confused and leaves, she leaves him a note saying it isn’t goodbye but needs time.Avery and Nicole the other hand are together now but live in different cities.Back to reality Brooke realises what she wants and what shes been missing out on after finding Josh with another woman, she leaves Josh and finally gets together with Easton and its sexy and passionate everything shes never had with Josh, its difficult but they try and spend time together when Easton isn’t with his daughter hes with Brooke things are going well till fate throws a cruel blow….i wont say anymore but what follows is a beautiful story of love, sacrifice, family and friendship.
All that Brooke has to face Easton,Avery and Nicole are there every step of theway. If you're wondering about the title Tattooed Dots all will become clear toward the end of the book.It was emotional too I found myself tearing up a few times, theres also an excellent cast of secondary characters Eastons parents,Brookes sister and Brookes mother who left them when they were young.Icant wait for book 2 which will be Avery and Nicoles storythen a 3rd book back to Brooke and Easton.
I loved this book. Once I started I was hooked and even though I wanted to hate Easton as he was a huge douche at the beginning he made me swoon hard when he met Brooke. He embraced his feelings for her straight away and didn't fight them, he just needed to find the right woman.
If you like insta-love tales with a bit of angst then this is for you. Brooke gets some bad news and Easton steps up to the plate massively which made me like him more. Being a single parent to his cutie really has helped him grow.
I am excited to see what Kimberly bring us next in this series
We meet Easton and Avery, the rather delicious sounding owners of Halo, a bar in New York. Both seem to have a reputation with the ladies and to be honest I can see why. Easton is a single father to his ten-year-old daughter Cheyenne and after losing his wife tragically, has shied away from serious relationships. He is by no means celibate but uses, then tosses the women aside. Avery is looking for Mrs Right and suggests the cruise as a way to help him find the love of his life.
Then enters Brooke and her single friend Nicole. Nicole buys the cruise as a present to Brooke for her thirtieth birthday but omits to tell her it is a singles cruise until the last minute. Brooke is stuck in a rut of a relationship with a selfish and unappreciative nerdy gamer dude by the name of Jared.
Inevitably one out of each of the pairs hit it off immediately and the other two are left as bystanders to the emerging romance. I loved the element of knowing that potentially a second romance could blossom on the cruise and the awkwardness of the situation as the cruise comes to an end left me with a sense of anticipation.
The main part of the story actually focuses on life after the cruise and the diagnosis of a serious illness in one of the main characters. The suspense of not knowing what was happening right along with the character added a really refreshing element to the book for me! In fact, it got to the point where I practically pulled an all-nighter to finish the book because I HAD to find out whether things turned out ok in the end!
I really fell for Easton even though he initially came across as a totally selfish womaniser with no feelings for anyone other than himself. His journey through the book was charming to read and the multi perspective of the book made sure that you really got to know him. Without giving too much away, his behavior whilst on the cruise, especially the way in which he just wasn’t interested in any of the no strings attached women on the cruise, really made me believe that he was captivated and willing to change. His relationship with his daughter also melted my heart and any man who devotes himself to his daughter like that wins it for me!
Brooke was also someone that I actually related to especially with her relationship with Jared. I am sure that before we all meet the one there is the one relationship that you stick with out of habit almost. Plus the journey that she has to endure through the book is so bittersweet in places and you can’t help wishing for her to catch a break! After spending the latter part of her childhood raising her much younger sister then to be thrown into the life and relationship we find her in you really want her to come out of the book smelling of roses. Does she? Well I’m not one for offering spoilers in a review so read it and find out!
Finally Avery and Nicole are also a big part of the story but this book in the main focuses on the will they won’t they romance of Easton and Brooke and the mountains they both have to climb to get out of the lives they have lead. Avery and Nicole were a great side story and both great supporting friends. The next book in the series is their book and I seriously cannot wait!
I’ve given this book a five fantastic star rating, mainly because I liked the different approach to romance it offered and also because it was nice for once not to have a book that was too angsty but still had suspense and whole lot of obstacles in the way. Cannot wait for more!
