Eve McGrath needs the new Tasting and Visitor centre finished at her family's distillery, so she's determined to confront the contractor she hired. However, she finds herself meeting the unreliable contractor's gorgeous son instead, and demanding he finish the job. Will Nick Baker do the right thing by accepting to take on the job Eve needs him to finish, so they can have a shot at forever after; or will he leave her high and dry and needing to find someone else to finish the job?

With every book, this series just keeps getting better and better, and Ms. Stanley delivers another wonderful and captivating read in this third story of her Bourbon Brothers series, encompassing a fast-paced storyline that is filled with plenty of dialogue, which had me smiling or laughing; and main characters that have such interesting back stories that I couldn't wait to discover more about them, especially the hero. The way this story started had me hoping the heroine would get what she wants, because she needs everything to work out, otherwise there's no telling how her mother will react. Will everything work out for the best for Eve?

As for the dialogue, it was intense and had me loving both the main characters because of their back stories and their playful banter, especially when they're conversing about relationships and the heroine's organizing skills when it comes to her office supplies. Those moments had me laughing and determined to discover how many more times they could make me laugh.

Stanley's books just get better and better. The story of two alcoholic-laced families needed to be told and she did it with her usual wit and creativity. A darn good read!

5.0 out of 5 stars A little bit strange and a whole lot interesting. 4 July 2017
By D - Guilty Pleasures BR - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
I was really looking forward to getting back to the Blue Mountain Distillery and I was very happy that I went back. Eve and Nick’s story was a little bit strange and a whole lot interesting.

Eve was a real pip. She was definitely OCD about things being in order, planning and life. Nothing is spontaneous with her, even having sex. But, there is one person that makes her forget her planner, her notebook and her post-it notes … Nick Baker.

Nick makes no promises. He does not make plans. He takes things as the come … one-day-at-a-time! That’s him. A man who cannot be counted on to be there in the long run. Then, why did he agree to finish building the tasting and visitors center when his father went down? Why can’t he say no to little Miss Organization? What is it about her that gets him thinking about long-term and breaking every promise he made to himself and make her a promise that he would always be there for her?

There are several things standing in the way of Eve and Nick. The biggest barrier is his secret. The 2nd biggest is Lorena who wins the Bitch of the Month Award. Nope, not a fan of this woman, her higher-than-thou attitude or the blinders she has on, just turned me completely off.
Especially at the end. I was hoping that she would have been redeemed and she just pissed me off more. I was surprised with who was redeemed and showed me that the love of a father for his son could turn your way of thinking around.

So, now it’s time to seriously commend Ms. Stanley on the writing of this story. She dug into some serious issues and wrote about them with style and grace. She showed us the trials of tribulations of a person going through AA and just how it affects the people around them. She dug deep and showed us the emotions of people going through Al-Anon/Alateen and how they cope with family members who are alcoholics. I was really impressed with how she wove these topics throughout the story but also gave Nick and Eve the chance to fall in love. Ms. Stanley also has a sense of humor and it shown through right from the beginning. I am looking forward to another trip back to Blue Mountain and can only hope that she keeps the series as fun and interesting as A Taste of You was.

5.0 out of 5 stars a lighthearted and adorable love story that will make you laugh. 3 July 2017
By Heather - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
This review contains slight SPOILERS. Paragraphs containing spoilers will be marked clearly.

The technical stuff: The cover of this book is drop dead sexy. If I hadn't already wanted to read it, that cover would have had me clicking to see what the story was about. This book is technically book 3 of the “Bourbon Brothers” series, and although the first books in the series are fabulous stories and should be read for that reason, you *do not* have to read them to enjoy this one. There is both on screen sex and cursing (including f-bombs) in this book so if those will cause you to leave a bad review of the story, then you should skip this one.

As someone who is familiar with the affects that alcohol can have on a family, on a life, this book touched a nerve that I wasn't expecting, and I mean that 100% in a positive way. *SPOILERS to end of paragraph* Nick's struggle with alcoholism (does he want to kiss Eve because she's sexy or because she's been drinking bourbon?) is just so beautifully written. I love that Ms. Stanley didn't write the usual romance “I'm an alcoholic but I can just have one drink and be totally fine, no big deal” fodder that frustrates me to no end when I read it. Instead of taking the easy (and totally ridiculous) road, Ms. Stanley wrote a character who knew that even one drink would be too much for him and he wouldn't take that risk. Even after being sober for five years, Nick knows that it's better not to tempt fate. So often alcoholism is a throw-away plot, used to make the character seem sympathetic, but that isn't the case with Nick at all, it is a part of him, and it is never glossed over or treated as something simple and I LOVED that.

But despite the serious nature of Nick's backstory, this book is full of the laugh out loud moments that I have come to expect and love in Ms. Stanley's books so please don't be scared off by that previous paragraph. This story is still a lighthearted and adorable love story that will make you laugh.

Eve was a little bit neurotic (in a good way) and incredibly organized, but she was also a little bit of a hot mess. She was so determined to keep the family legacy going that she wasn't living her own life. Watching her change and grow over the course of this book was fabulous, and I especially enjoyed her part in the final few chapters. As someone with an addiction to office supplies, I found myself laughing and LOVING her fetish for post-its and paper clips and pens that write oh so smoothly (oh maybe I'm projecting on that last one).

If you enjoy a book about two fabulous characters who fall in love despite the differences that should keep them apart, and a story about things that go so much deeper than the usual fluffy romance novel fodder (which I also love so that is not meant to be an insult!) than you should give this book a read. It was a fabulous, wonderful way to end this series.

I requested and was generously granted an ARC of this book. I was under no obligation at all to write this review. I wrote it because I very much enjoyed the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved it! 4 July 2017

Oh wow! It's such a fun read, I absolutely loved this book. It's one of those amazing stories which warm your heart, and make you fall in love. Beautifully written, it has great plot, fun & interesting main characters, and it is very well-written. I'd definitely recommend it to all contemporary romance readers, it's a must read book.
Eve is well-organized. She likes to make notes, plan ahead, and know exactly what she is going to do and when she is going to do it. Right now she is working on a very important project and need her carpenter to show up. When he didn't she has to go and find him. Unfortunately, she found a lot more than a carpenter... or may be I should say fortunately, it depends on how you look at it. In any case now she does have a carpenter, her work is on track, but her heart? That's a different story all together.
Nick doesn't make promises. He likes to take on step at a time, one day at a time. He is all wrong for someone like Eve. He knows that, Eve knows that, everyone knows that and yet those two simply can't resist each other. Nick has to return home sooner or later. He can't stay with his father forever and when he leaves what will happen to Eve and her expectations?
I was given a complimentary copy of this book and I enjoyed it thoroughly. It's a great read so do check it out. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars ... of You We get to see some of our favorite characters from Blue Mountain 6 July 2017
By Bookish Things - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
5 reasons to read A Taste of You

We get to see some of our favorite characters from Blue Mountain, and they are as entertaining as ever.
The tension. Eve and Nick have so much sexual tension you can feel it pour from the pages.
Eve’s obsession with office supplies. It’s a thing I totally get and loved that this character feels the same way. Seriously, there’s just something about office supplies.
Nick… So much Nick. He has his own demons that he struggles with and they are tested frequently.
The fun awkward moments. I’ll never look at a supply closet the same, and rain storms… Talk about fun times in the rain.

If you’ve read the previous Bourbon Brother’s books, you’ll definitely want to check this one out. I loved every minute of it and can’t wait to see what Stanley has for us next.
