Got my first glitch as two monitors started flicking. Everything froze and I had to cold restart the laptop. Technically I only connected 5 monitors to the DS as I have one connected direst to the laptop.
Will see if this issue comes back again. I will update in few days.
And yes, power cable comes as US standard.. Amazon and/or Targus did not bother to supply Australian power cable.. that is annoying and really poor form.
Again, this is relevant is anyone plans to use more than 4 monitors. This DS is only designed to handle 4 monitors unless I misread something..

This dock does not work with macboks for dual or triple display setups, if you want to extend on all of them. It can MIRROR to all the connected monitors or extend to ONE external monitor and mirror that display onto the other monitors. Also, I needed to plug in my Macbook (Pro 13-inch) to an independant power source. If I used the dock to supply the power, I would get a warning that said that 'more power was needed for the accessory' (or something like that). This despite the dock promising to supply 85W PD.
I also tried it on my Chromebook and that was even worse - the dock would restart the Chromebook whenever I plugged or unplugged the USB-C connector cable to/from the Chromebook!! So it would seem that this dock is meant solely for Windows systems but I didn't test that out much. I stopped using it the moment I realized it wouldn't work on Macbooks OR Chromebooks.
One other thing that irked me was that the USB-C cable needs to be screwed on to the back of the dock - that was a little frustrating because these are really small screws. I could insert the end maybe half-way into the dock before the screws would block. Then I would have to turn the screws all the way in - one by one - until the cable was fully inserted into the dock.
For all I know, it might be a terrific docking station for windows laptops...but it for sure isn't ready for other systems. I'm returning this item.
About the Seller:
I bought this from a marketplace seller (Canada Direct) and they were awesome! I received the item in 2 days even though the original estimate was for a little longer. And this despite the pandemic lockdown and extended shipping times going on! The item was packaged well and there were no damages. Very pleased with the delivery :)
However, I'm trying to return the item for the reasons mentioned above. Let's see how that goes. I'll update this review if I find issues while dealing with them on this.
Once I connected the MacBook Air's USB-C power adapter to the adapter, the artifacts were gone and the displays became usable (for both the Windows and Mac laptops). Clearly this adapter is not able to operate properly from the power supplied via USB-C. Fortunately, PD for the Mac worked as well in this configuration (the Asus laptop doesn't do PD).
With the display connected, I was unable to drive the 144Hz refresh of the LG 32GK850F-B display (max selectable was 120Hz, which is still good).
I could not enable HDR. Windows would present the HDR slider, but when trying to enable it the screen would momentarily go blank, then come back with the HDR slider in the off position again.
I could not enable G-Sync in the Nvidia control panel on the Asus laptop. The G-Sync option was simply not present when the display was connected to this adapter. I do have that option when the display is connected directly to the laptop's mDP port.
The only problem we have is the power adapters did not fit our laptop but Targus is looking if a power tip is available. If they don't have one, i will re-asses the review.
