Let me jump in straight to the review.
Good highs and mids, decent lows with no rattling in few frequencies. I used it with wire and wireless. Sound quality is more or less the same. You can tell that its doesnt have highly engineered drivers based on the bass punch, however you will be surprised to experience the quality that you get from a <$100 headphones. I used it with an amp and listened them with hi-fi music and acoustics are pretty neat. Sound production is overall very nice. I can see myself using these for everyday use.
flawless. No hissing or any obnoxious experiments done with these. They built it right.
I used headphones made by this manufacturer before. Its amazing how far they have come. On a scale of 1-10, Id rate their previous products as 2. This one at least deserves a 7.5. Soft pads, comfortable to wear all day. I didnt sweat or irritated wearing them for long durations. This is where I compare this with sony 1000mx3s and I prefer these over sony. Having said that not to replace sony’s but to have an inexpensive and comfy pair for day to day use .
I say its an exceptional value for the price. Its my new fav under a 100. In the world of a billion wireless headphones this item really stands out. I am very pleased with the purchase.
Update (Dec 2019):
Poor battery management: While the charging lasts long, it is always on when you turned it on. It automatically wont sleep or turned off when not in use. It will stay on until its drained. If you are used to decent high end headphones with a few smart functions, lack of this feature could feel annoying at times. Specially every time you grab the headphones you realize that you forgot to turn them off and the headphones do not have any charge now to use with.
Some advantages I've figured out so far :
Bluetooth 5.0 - Provides great range, 5.0 capability is fairly new and I did not come across a lot of headphones with this. From what I understand 5.0 offers higher rates of data transfer.
Great Bass and fidelity - Sound is crisp and definitely over-performs its price point.
Ergonomics/Comfort - Excellent quality and design, Looks and feels like a high end product, comfortable for long sessions. I have been wearing them at work all day without any issues. The protein pads offer excellant noise isolation and comfort. Pairs with multiple devices and remembers them, in case you need to toggle between tablet/laptop/cellphone.
Active Noise Cancellation: This model performs exceptionally well with low frequency noise cancellation. i.e. Cancelling noise from fans/dishwasher/engines etc. ANC in general does not perform well with high frequency noises or human chatter, however, it does reduce the noises couple of dB IMO. For the price point, ANC is doing beyond my expectations.
Sound: the warmth of the bass signature was very present without the sloppy overpowering brute Force of overpriced "style" oriented competitors. The mid-range is also represented with individuality, not complacency and the highs are so well balanced against the aforementioned signatures that I can hear instruments in some songs I hadn't noticed in the past.
Build quality: this is a strong and flexible headset with no sleight in the area of comfort. From the deep, plush ear cushions to the spongy headband, fatigue was never a concern. These headphones also fold and lay flat so finding your fit is super easy with so many points of articulation. Top all this off with the slick matte finish and glossy Taotronics branding and you can get ready for everyone to ask " where did you get those? They look expensive" but you and I know the truth: they only look and sound expensive.
I'll put these up against one of the more pricey brands any day.
Battery life is stellar, and the quick charging is very useful. Overall, these headphones are a great deal and offer a lot of bang for your buck!
They've held up to regular sweating (100°F) being used for outdoor work and for travel with the provided case. They're great for car rides when you want to listen to something different than everyone else and the ANC does a great job of quieting the road noise. I listened to audiobooks while wearing these in the car while my wife listened to a different audiobook through the car speakers and I could still very easily listen to my audiobook. With the included travel case, they fold up into a compact and easy size to throw into a bag for trips. I haven't been easy on them and they've held up wonderfully. With their huge battery life I also don't have to recharge them very often and when I do, a quick 10 min charge gets me going for a while. Very worse case, the included phono line backup works with anything and keeps me going. Truly a great set of headphones for the price and I wouldn't hesitate to get a 3rd pair for around the house use. For the price I've paid for 2 or even 3 pairs of these, I'm still ahead of the more expensive BOSE and Sony pairs.
After a couple weeks the headphones do have difficulty with connection to my computer.
I am unsure if this is a software with my PC or hardware issue with the headphones, however my other bluetooth headphones and earbuds have no similar issue.
Changed to 4/5 as the sound and build quality is solid
Headphones are great quality at this price point
Sound is good and noise cancellation works fairly well
I still have yet to find a budget headphone that can compare to my Sony WH1000xm3, but that’s is a very hard thing to accomplish given the price points.
Overal I would highly recommend these for anyone who is in the market for a good budget set of headphones!
The weak spot for these headphones is the sound. I used different sound sources and found all of the sounded muddy, as if there's too much middle and not enough highs or lows.
I bought these primarily for noise cancelling so I can live with the poor sound quality. If good sound quality in an inexpensive package is your main objective then I recommend skipping these headphones.
Unfortunately after listening to them for about 2 minutes I could tell I was going to need to return them.
The Active Noise Cancelling does a good job of eliminating white noise in the background. Better than the mpow H5s that I also own. However, they still don't do a very good job of attenuating the sound of people talking near you, but in this price range, that's to be expected.
Unfortunately, with ANC on, the quality of audio played through the headphones is significantly degraded, taking on a muffled sound as if you're listening to it through a pillow. With ANC turned off, audio quality is ok, but if I can't listen to music or podcasts while ANC is on, then what is the point of having ANC in your headphones?
I guess if you only want to use them to eliminate the engine noise on an airplane or train, and don't actually want to listen to anything while ANC is on they may be good for you, but otherwise, avoid these headphones if you actually want to listen to something and use ANC at the same time.
The ear openings were also not quite big enough to actually go around my ears, so if you have large ears like me, they may not be comfortable for long periods of time. Unfortunately I couldn't bring myself to listen to them for more than a few minutes, so I can't comment on battery life or long-term comfort.
Either the vast majority of the reviews are fake, or I got a defective pair, because the reviews I read did not match the headphones that were sent to me.
This headphones do not feel good in the head and I don't recommended at all.
