Book 2 smoothly continues from book 1 however it is full of high emotions and drama, a real blast into the story that captures your interest straight away.
Tank, or Trevor, is the victim of a serious car accident that leaves him quite vulnerable. Blaze, an EMT and on again off again girlfriend of Tanks, attends the scene where she realises how close she is to losing her true love.
Told by Blaze and Tank's points of view, giving insight into each character and their inner feelings. This is quite a fast paced story that, as stated, pulls you in from the beginning and keeps your interest throughout until the end.
I gave it four and a half stars because the only down side to this story is it is a bit repetitive, rehashing their relationship from the beginning and over the hurdles a little much.
I really enjoyed the humour, especially the banter between the characters. I also appreciate the 'real life' aspect where once the relationship was rocky it doesn't suddenly strengthen miraculously. As well the issues raised such as mental illness and remembering our fallen soldiers, both heavy topics dealt smoothly and with style.
This is the 4th book I have read by Laramie and I have determined that her writing style just doesn't connect with me. I find it disjointed at times and I feel like an observer of the story, where as I prefer to get sucked into the story, feeling right along with the characters. This lack of connection makes my mind wander and I can get bored with the story.
I could appreciate Blaze and Tanks story. I liked the premise that they were already together before hand, and this book was about strengthening their relationship and healing physically and emotionally.
Wow i think everyone us would like to have a little bit of blaze and tank in us. The love they share for one another is astounding both accepting who each other are warts and all.. . Great series by Laramie Briscoe.
Another sweet romance from Laramie Briscoe. Angst free (which I love), you hear about the lead characters previous drama without having to live through it. Great to catch up with Whitney & Renegade too. Solid 5 stars.
