5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, hot, hot! 14 February 2014

Wow! I didn't want to put my Kindle down! Talk about a fun and sexy romp. Rachelle Ayala continues to entertain! Taming Romeo is different from her past romantic suspense books, being full on romance, but I loved it!

Evie has a lot of growing to do and a heartache to get over, but that won't stop Romeo from going after what he wants, full throttle. The chemistry between Evie and Romeo sizzles and the heat between them is a force that can't be denied. The author even threw me for a loop at the end with an unexpected twist that was great! Didn't want this one to end and I hope to see more from Evie's family in the future. Can't wait to see what Rachelle comes up with next! I highly recommend picking this up!

5.0 out of 5 stars a breathtaking story of being pursued and caught by a love so boundless and intense that all we can think of is forever 17 April 2015

Taming Romeo is a breathtaking story of being pursued and caught by a love so boundless and intense that all we can think of is forever. When a love so pure and right envelopes and permeates itself so thoroughly and gently throughout your heart, it cannot be easily stopped or pushed aside. Throwing aside such a precious gift is unthinkable and beyond cruel. Unfortunately, in life nothing is cut and dry when it comes to love and life. Sometimes we are convinced that love will only serve to hold us back from our dreams when in reality they only help to fuel and enhance your deepest dreams. If only, we could really understand that and not allow others to convince us to settle for leaving our heart on the side of the road. Living life without your heart completely removes the reason for life itself. Who would want to live like that?

Evie is a girl with a dream of becoming a doctor. The only problem is that while her dreams pull her away from home, the boy who has stolen her heart is at home. She is completely torn by this, and ultimately she is convinced that her dreams are more important then what her heart wants. After all she can find love anywhere, right? Her heart tries to tell her that she is wrong, but to prove that she knows best, she finds a love at college that becomes only a shadow of what she desperately longs for. Romeo doesn’t understand why the girl he intended to marry left him standing with his heart in his hands. He thought he knew where she stood, but obviously he’s missing some important piece of information. When she comes home for a short break, he doesn’t intend to waste any time in showing her what all she has missed out on. He wants to ingrain himself so deeply into her heart that she can’t walk away this time. With meddling families and jealous siblings, these two have their work cut out for them. Will Evie follow her heart this time, or will she forever lose the best thing in her life?

Evie attempted to make her dreams come true at the ultimate expense of her heart which only proved to her that she was making a huge mistake in the end. Everything came crashing down around her because you can’t live your life devoid of your heart. You ignore it at your own demise. Her character really tugged at my heart because she learned the hard way that you can’t walk away from the incredible love that she and Romeo carefully built and nurtured. My heart broke for Romeo since he was left completely in the dark without an excuse or any word from Evie for 5 years. I admire him for not hating her when she came back, but instead he was fiercely determined to prove to Evie that he still loved her and she had always been in his heart even she shut him out of her life. He was relentless in loving her and proving to her that she deserved to be loved so completely and perfectly even after she broke his heart. They belonged together, and he did everything he could to show her that she needed to choose him this time.

Rachelle Ayala has created this beautifully dysfunctional Sanchez family who you love and yet want to smack them from time to time. They are a fun yet realistic family who in the end loves each other in spite of their faults and mistakes. While they might not go about things the right way, in the end they find the love, forgiveness, and courage they need to make the right decisions. We all get frustrated with those in our family, but deep in our heart, we love each other unconditionally. This is what I love to see each time I come back to this incredible group of people who have touched my heart one person at a time. I very much look forward to seeing more from them in the future.

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 stars = I REALLY liked this book 24 May 2014
By Angela S Goodrich - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Taming Romeo was a fun read for me. Evie is home after a disappointing semester at med school – her fiancé cut her out of his life with no warning and her grades suffered because of it. Because of the situation, she took the semester off at the urging of her advisor in order to get herself together. So of course, she’s feeling like a failure and is depressed and overwhelmed with life. Fortunately for Evie she comes from a large family that are there for her to help her deal with the situation. Unfortunately for Evie, she comes from a large family that does not seem to know when to butt out of her personal life. This is why she gets blindsided by the appearance of her former high school sweetheart, Romeo.

I will admit that I enjoyed the Karma-like situation as Evie faced the same kind of freeze out from her fiancé that she subjected Romeo to five years ago. And because we all know that Karma’s a bitch, Romeo is now a successful actor with a former music career, so this just intensifies her feelings of failure. We quickly learn that while Evie may have cut Romeo out of her life, he never cut her out of his heart. What ensues is a sometimes emotional, sometimes funny, always hot & sexy courtship as Romeo sets out to win back his girl.

Taming Romeo was a well-written book that I thoroughly enjoyed. I appreciated the glossary of terms that Ms. Ayala provided. I am looking forward to reading the author’s next book about Evie’s sister Choco.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

4.0 out of 5 stars Another Good Book from Rachelle Ayala 5 May 2014
By Kelli R. Guilbeau - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Rachelle Ayala has written a great romance novel. What I love about this book, besides the romance, is the peek into another culture. The characters are Filipino. Now, don't get worried, this is not a book on the Filipino culture. It is a romance novel with some culture mixed in. The cultural aspect is not overpowering.

I was hooked from the beginning of the book, and couldn't put it down. I read the entire book in about a day. The book is so realistic, except for maybe Romeo being a "movie star". The feelings and confusion that Evie faces are so real. I know I've kind of faced some of the same confusion in my life. My husband and I were good friends, and I had just gone through a rough break up right before we started dating. I wasn't sure at first if what I was feeling was real or just a rebound thing. I wanted him to be more than just a safety net or backup plan. I can say, after almost 25 years together, it was and is true love.

I give this book 4 stars. There are a few adult situations that some parents may not be comfortable with their teenager reading. However, I don't think it is much different than other books that teenagers read these days. If you get a chance to read this one, please do. You will enjoy it.

I received this book to review through Beck Valley Books Book Tours, all the opinions above are 100% my own.

5.0 out of 5 stars I need me a Romeo 3 September 2015
By Leanna W - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I really loved this book. Romeo, the sexy bad boy has improved his life in the past 5 years and has become a successful actor. This is inspiring as he was dealt a bad card when Evie just up and left him. Ironically enough the same situation happens to her by her fiance Eric when he tells her those oh so very dreaded words "we need a break". Ugh those words! This bit of karma was well deserved and fun to read about. With a deep and definite past between them will Romeo decide to let Evie back into his heart, the heart that truly never let her go. Will Evie try to make things right with Romeo after all of this time has gone by? Can he ever trust her again?

Rachelle Ayala is such an amazing author. The way she displays love, hotness, and sweetness with her wonderful and cute humor makes this book and all of hers fun, fast and rewarding reads. Not only are her books great but so are all of her book titles just proving to us readers the extent of her writing talents. And yes there are more books in this series YAY.
