How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I am not a fan of cutesy titles so I almost gave this a miss, but I am so glad I didn’t. This is a great read, with strong characters who grow, learn and change through the story. And the way that consent and choice is such an important part of their relationship... wow. The HEA was all I could wish for. I had been in a bit of a reading slump, avoiding dukes and lords, but this one had me really hooked. Loved it and can’t wait to read more of Frampton’s stories

A take on Beauty and the Beast
Reviewed in the United States on 29 November 2020Verified Purchase
I think it would have been better to have read the series in order. That having been said, this was a nice take on Beauty and the Beast.
Ana Maria is quirky, unsure of herself and her place in her world, and wanting a purpose. She is struggling with her new position in the house she had always known.
Nash is broken and struggling to navigate polite society and any type of interpersonal interaction. He grew up thinking mite and force were how you get your way, being a Duke and all.
Their journey was at times painful, sometimes confusing and other time sweet. I enjoy Ms. Frampton's work but this felt a little forced. Like she was trying to fit a mould of circles with octagons. I am going to go back to the first book in the series and see if it changes my view of this story.

Just okay

Okay book. The chemistry between the H/h was lacking for me. I'm not sure what it was that threw it off for me, but not as good as most of her other books.
