New York Times and USA Today Best-Selling Paranormal Romance Author Felicity Heaton presents:

Taken by a Dragon (Eternal Mates Paranormal Romance Series Book 7)
Possessed by a need to save a beautiful Amazon warrior from the vision he witnessed, Loke snatched her from the midst of the battle between the Third and Fifth realm of the demons, and carried her to his home deep in the black mountains of Hell to protect her. But as the fierce little female awakens, he finds she’s anything but grateful, and his dragon instincts roar to life to warn she might be more to him than an enemy—she might be his fated female.

Anais remembers meeting a handsome warrior in the heat of battle, a man who was her enemy but who looked at her with eyes that held dark heat and wicked promises. When she wakes to find that same dragon shifter has taken her captive, desire is the last thing on her mind, but escaping him to return to Archangel, the hunter organisation she works for, sounds less than appealing when he reveals the reason he took her—to stop her from dying.

Can Loke protect Anais from the dangers of his realm and how far will he go to save her from the future he keeps witnessing? Can Anais resist the fierce attraction that burns between them as hot as fire and stay true to Archangel or will her heart be taken by the dragon?

: 4.25 stars--TAKEN BY A DRAGON is the seventh instlallment in Felicity Heaton’s ETERNAL MATES paranormal romance, fantasy series focusing on shifters, demons, fae, elves, vampires and more. This is dragon shifter Loke, and Anais’s storyline. Anais is a hunter who works for Archangel Industry-a group that studies the supernatural powers and paranormal activity. TAKEN BY A DRAGON can be read as a stand alone although many of the previous storyline characters are beginning to cross over between the novels, along with hints at future matings and relationships.

Told from alternating third person points of view, the focus of the storyline is two fold: The opening finds Anais on the battlefield in the Third Realm of Hell when she is unglamorously abducted and held against her will by a dragon who claims that he has seen the future. Loke felt compelled to save Anais the minute a vision of her death clouded his mind. Anais is unsure as to how to handle the news and attempts to escape only to find herself the prisoner of another dragon who is more than willing to take what he wants-and what he wants will surely end Anais’s life.

Secondly, Anais knows that the people from Archangel Industry will be on the hunt for their missing female and Anais is more than willing to let the people in charge do what they do best. It is only when she and Loke return to the human realm does she realize the gross error in judgment about the people with whom she works.

The relationship between Anais and Loke begins combatively and reluctantly although their attraction to one another is immediate and intense; Loke believes he has found his fated mate but humans rarely survive a mating the a supernatural species and with this comes fear, desire and longing.

Possessed by a fierce need to protect a beautiful Amazon warrior, Loke kidnaps Anais but he’ll have to decide how far he will go to protect her in this spellbinding paranormal romance. I have to say that Loke and Anais’ story may have just became my favorite (so far), I love them all but there was just something about Loke that really struck a chord with me – maybe it was the contrast between vulnerable but fierce- I don’t know but there was no way I could put this book down once I started reading it.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want a blue dragon! 10 March 2015
By Jacque - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Just when I was starting to get a little bored with the series, Taken By a Dragon draws me back in and gets me excited all over again.

DRAGONS! Who doesn't love dragons?! A blue dragon on top of it all. The author has really caught my attention with Loke. Hot and yummy, he has this fierceness and innocence about him I just adore. Anais is no slouch as a huntress. Their passion and romance mixed in dragons, rescues and battles gave the whole story this epic feeling that I absolutely loved. It had a nice build up to all the plots, which I felt gave me a glimpse of what future stories may come as well as what was happening now. There's a few twists along the way that I found surprising as well as unexpected. The ending was fantastic and a little naughty (Dragons do like sparkly objects. Hee-hee!) that left me smiling.

On a side note...that cover is freaking awesome!

After the past few books being all about the felines, a book with dragons is a refreshing change. And not just dragons, we get to go back to the original roots of the story with Archangel, and characters from the previous titles (I just love when that happens!). You can definitely tell this series is going somewhere when you go back to the beginning. This seventh entry certainly proves this series needs to be read in order. There's a little bit from each book represented here so if you don't want to get lost, read them all in order. It so worth it. What will the next book be about? Bleu? The Angel with no name? Who knows but I cannot wait.

I received this book from the JeepDiva for the express  purposes of an honest review. The opinions and rating of this review are solely mine and in no way was I compensated.

3.0 out of 5 stars Felt like two separate authors 13 March 2015

I was truly enjoying Loke and his little Amazon. Other reviewers have mentioned Loke's sweetness and sensitivity quite adequately. I mean a truly hot, noble dragon. The little Amazon was believable too. Until chapter 17.
***spoiler alert***
After standing up to the dragon king and an entire village of dragons bent on rape and/or murder and watching Loke nearly die fighting to win her, our little Amazon turned into a mute statue when her commander authorizes a demon to beat the crap out of her love then imprison him. Not a single word? Really? I know the author needed a way to set up the next books, but come on. Not even a whimper? Not even when she saw him in the cell knowing what was planned for him? There had to be a better way to introduce a dazzling array of new characters other than such an extreme left turn. It just felt like another author stepped in without reading the first half of the book. Sorry, I just can't get passed that one. Maybe I'll come back and finish it another time but for now...I feel just as angry and betrayed as Loke.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anais and Loke 23 March 2015
By Samantha ( LSK Sweetheart Reviews ) & ( Sammy Sue's Reviews ) - Published on

Anais is a Hunter for Archangel. Archangel is a group that protects Mortals from Demons and other evils. Although they are not always as good as they seem to be. During a battle in one of the realms of Hell a beautiful blue Dragon took her. She does not know what to think at first Or if she can believe anything that he says. It doesn't take her long to realize not only could she believe him but that maybe she should actually listen to him also. When push comes to shove will she protect Loki as she does others that she loves or will she betray him?

Loke has never met a Mortal before. He can not go to the Mortal Realm. No Dragon can or they will die. Therefore he knows nothing of Mortal ways. All he knows is when he seen the beautiful little Amazon he saw a vision of her death and all he knew was that he had to protect her at all costs. No matter how much she may not like it or try to fight. He is shocked when he discovers that she is his one fated mate. He then vows he will do everything that he can to make her want to stay with him.

As with every other book in this series I absolutely LOVED it! This is book 7 in a series but it can be read as a stand alone. There are other characters from other books in the series but it does not throw you off it just makes you want to read the other books to find out their stories. There are many openings for more books in this series. This gives me hope that there will be more. This book brings you a loveable if a bit naïve Dragon a female with a lot of determination even if she is a bit too trusting, Love, Betrayal, a pretty intense fight scene and Lots of pretty Yummy Loving. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next! I definitely recommend reading!
5.0 out of 5 stars My First Dragon Shifter. I want more! 23 December 2015

I finally popped my dragon shifter cherry with Felicity Heaton’s Taken by a Dragon. I’ve been waiting for this book since book 2, Claimed by a Demon King where Loke grabs Anais from the battlefield.
I loved how Heaton took well-known dragon traits and included them in Loke as a human and dragon. And I really enjoyed the fact that Loke lets Anais know that there is no man and dragon, that he is both no matter what form he is in. Heaton helped give a visual picture of the man and dragon with the physical look of Loke. He has blue hair and wears blue leather pants when he is in human form, then when he shifts into his dragon form his has blue scales. There was one trait that kind of was creepy, the two rows of teeth. I think the second roll only showed when Loke was really upset/mad.

Loke is very endearing. He lives in hell and has no idea about modern technology. He doesn’t know what electricity is and it’s fun to watch Anais try to explain these things to him.

Fans of Kresley Cole’s Immortals After Dark series will enjoy Heaton’s Eternal Mates series. Heaton weaves her characters’ timelines in a similar manner as Cole but on a smaller scale. You could read Taken by a Dragon after Claimed by a Demon King, but you would miss a little of the character references, but overall you’d be ok reading it sooner rather than later if you are new to the series.

I have one more book in the series to read to be caught up, Marked by an Assassin. I look forward to reading it and enjoying another couples’ HEA since we got a peek at the male in Taken by a Dragon. I wonder how many more books will be in the series since there was a hand full of new characters introduced towards the end of this installment. I love how the surly elf, Blue keeps making cameos. Do believe that Heaton threw us a bone about who his mate will be.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great enemies to lovers story with the sweetest, most honorable hero yet. 10 March 2015

*Complimentary ARC via the author assistant for the purpose of an honest review.

Taken by a Dragon picks up during the battle in Chapter 29 in Claimed by a Demon King (book two). However, I wouldn’t recommend reading the series out of order.

Anais didn't appreciate being abducted and leaving her friends to fight the war on their own. Despite warming up to Loke after a few days, she remained vigilant and determined to find a way to get back to the Mortal Realm. Unfortunately, doing a bit of reconnaissance required her to break her vow of not trying anything foolish. A seemingly harmless action landed not only her in deep sh*t but also Loke. Instead of feeling betrayed or angry, he was unsurprisingly patient and forgiving of what she'd set in motion, and his first priority remained her safety at all costs.

I loved Loke! He lived apart from others of his kind, therefore he was somewhat isolated. He dreamed of seeing the blue skies o the Mortal Realm, a place his species were banned from by a witch’s curse, and he’d given up on “dalliances” early on so he hadn’t been with a female in about eight centuries. Around her, he was always sweet, gentle and kind. It was cute how he took pride in his simple lodgings while also worrying about how to make it more amenable to her.

Even though I liked Anais quite a bit, I did get upset with her at one point. Earlier in the story, she didn't have a problem standing up to Zephyr and Ren (at least until they efficiently cowed her), but when Thorne and Sable eventually showed up, she couldn't get her mouth to work to keep them from hurting Loke and taking him back to Archangel for “interrogation”. I found myself basking in her hurt and guilt. I wanted to throttle her for her naiveté. That’s not to say she couldn’t redeem herself because she did.

There were two other interesting side stories (I haven’t read books 4-6, so I don’t know what has or hasn’t transpired thus far): An angel, the Fourth Commander of the Echelon, shows up who is determined to drag Sable to Heaven to serve, but he’s sidetracked when he takes an interest in one of the other huntresses, Emelia. Then there was something going on with Bleu and two other elves he seemed shocked to see. Some things didn’t feel resolved, but they will likely be addressed in future books. Even though I had a few problems remembering certain things or understanding the significance of a few characters, (my fault for being inconsistent with the series), I still love the scorching romance, the suspense and the world in general. Ms. Heaton never fails at making me want to slap then hug certain heroines; I’ll cry at certain heart-wrenching scenes then feel happy again at the end of it all. I would definitely read this again (for Loke) as part of a series re-read.
