In terms of putting the bands on, it's fairy easy, it just depends on the location of your skin tag. You might need help or require the use of a mirror which I did use. After I got the band around the skin tag, it did not hurt, I just felt pressure around it as if I were to squeeze the skin tag in between my fingers. All good and done and now we wait... That night I did not see too much of a change, one side of it has turned grayish and the rest of it was still the same color...
The following day, the same thing... Then I did a little bit more research and some people said that they used a bigger size than they needed, I was a bit disappointed even though it seemed the correct size for my large skin tag, it felt as if one side was compressed and the other side still had blood supply... I pushed the band down a bit more and carried on with my day...
Day 3, still the same thing, this time around it was oozing some clear liquid as when you have a blister and you pop it except my skin tag did not pop but it was oozing some smelly watery liquid (? lymph/protein) ... I was getting a bit pissed off and anxious about it so I decided than rather ordering the smaller size, to put another band on top of the other one... Holy cow, did that hurt... It hurt sooo bandly I said if it continues hurting like that I might need to cut them off. Within an hour, the skin tag shrunk in size, the pain was gone and by the end of the day, it turned black. At least now I was seeing some good changes.
Day 4, no more of that gross liquid, the tag has dried out and it looked like an elongated raisin which continued to shrink in size and become more unconfortable as the days went by... When I was at home I would let it air dry and while at work I would use a bandaid to prevent any clothing friction as without the bandaid, all the walking would make it move and it would be sore.
Day 5, the bands were digging into my skin and I was starting to become concerned that maybe I did a mistake by using 2 bands on top of each other so now even with a bandaid on, it was digging even more into my skin... At this point, I thought that I might need to have the bands removed at the GP...
Day 6, yellow, almost puss-like liquid started to come around the edges where the bands were touching the skin and the skin tag started to wiggle around. I started rubbing some apple cider vinegar and tea tree oil to prevent any infection from developping... At this point, I thought that it might have become infected although I did follow aseptic steps but then, you never know...
It is now day 7, I was getting upset about it but I said I will continue waiting until the 15-16 day mark and if it does not come off or oozes some more yellowish stuff then I will go to my GP. It was also starting to become extremely sore as it was moving around a lot when walking and it still seemed to be connected around my skin. Later on in the day, I gave it another look and I started touching it just to have a feel and it just fell off!!! I then looked at the wound left behind and it was showing raw skin of course but dry if that makes sense... It left around a very small hole, you cannot even see it, I cannot even imagine that I had something big and atrocious there that is now GONE!!! I will continue with the sterile techniques and hope for a good and speedy healing process and even though the scarring process will leave behind a tiny hole, that is a small price to pay compared to having extra skin wiggling on top of your skin...
I CANNOT recommend this product more, it does take some time to work especially if you are someone impatient such as myself. Everyone's experience will be different but it is worth the wait! One week of discomfort for 30 years of insecurity and a full life ahead of me for confidence and happiness, totally worth all the money!!!
Thank you so much of restoring my self-confidence! :)
It arrived within 2 days and it took me another couple days to gather the nerve to use it. I was able to apply it myself, although it took me a good 20 minutes - it was in an awkward place after all. Over the first 3-4h I was very much aware of it and there was a bit of pain. I am very squeamish and the thought of this rubber pinching the blood supply off was kind of worse than the actual feeling, so all in all it really wasn't that bad. After that I felt literally nothing. 12h in I saw the skin had gone pale, 24h later It had shrunk to about halfsize and turned darker. That was the last time I checked. - Now, not even 48h later it fell over when I went to the toilet. A lot sooner than I had expected. I can see where it was and it seems like I didn't get the rubber over all of it, so there is a small bump left - but it is still 100% better than before. Cannot believe this actually worked. I am very happy about it!
So, application. Its a really easy and effective system but if the area is loose skin (mine obviously being very loose) you'll probably need some help. I got my wife to pull the skin tight while I applied it.
At first and for a few hours it was a touch uncomfortable, like a tight feeling. That passes and its not noticeable.
After only 24 hours the tag turned black as the blood supply cut off. On day nine the tag came off. Amazing.
At one stage it looked a bit red around the tag but don't worry, this is normal.
I took hot baths, sauna's and steam rooms and still the band stayed on. In my case I used one band for the while 9 days.
This is a great product, very effective but you do need to be patient and ensure its applied properly. Good luck!
I had three tags to remove so chose the medium to large size as one of the tags was quite big. Unfortunately the tag bands fell off the other two overnight on the first night; I think I need to order the smaller size kit for these.
The largest tag I had though was gone within 9 days! Put the tag on (with the help of my husband as it was in a tricky area!) on Thursday night and nothing happened until the following Thursday. Then on that Thursday I started to worry as it looked like the tag was getting bigger and all of the other reviews said it should be shriveling up and getting smaller. Saturday morning I went to the use the bathroom and the tag had gone. There is no mark on my skin where it was and it is completely healed.
I can't recommend this product enough, I just wish I had used it sooner!
I had to contort myself to get the cone over the tag and just used my fingernail to ease band off the end of cone. It snapped snugly against my skin, was noticeably tender in first few hours (I used a numbing pile cream to ease discomfort) but not painful, turned black within an hour and had shunk considerably! Applied on Sunday afternoon and has just detached (Wed evening). Will savlon/tea tree oil the site to aid a full recovery.
Tube was difficult to cover tag but with gentle twisting motion it went on and band went over - at first you think this can’t work ? Then 2/3 days later went red/black - did have to cover with plaster because it was a little sore if it rubbed on clothes
Then I started to be a little impatient after 6/7 days because it was dead but hadn’t fallen away but still connecting to leg ...
decided to just leave it a few more days and bingo , 9 days in just fell off ....
Gave the wound a clean because it was a big tag , covered for few days with plasters , change regularly..
And now barely a mark remains and I’m chuffed with this diy effort!
So, I had two big skin tags on my back. One I’d had for easily 15 years if not more. The other was probably more 3-4 years. I’ve tried everything for the 15 year one. Acids, freezing, tea tree oil. Nothing worked. I was a bit nervous about tying around it because of how big it was.
Now my 15 year old skin tag was odd. It didn’t seem to have a small stalk, instead it looked the same all the way down and it was kind of sticking out about 1.5cm so you could see it through t shirts. I hated the damn thing. I saw this product and saw awesome reviews and people describing using it on big skin tags so I thought yeah let’s try it.
The day it arrived I went straight in and got my partner (on my back so I couldn’t reach) to put bands on each one. She said it was difficult to push the band off the end as the device seems very snug. Anyway bands on and for the first 3-4 days I didn’t see too much action.
From day 4 though they both started to change colour, black from the tip down. By day 5-6 they were both fully black. But this is where things turn south.
The base of my tags get red, very very red and extremely sore. The 15 year one started to become enflamed around the base and it started to look like my skin was growing over the band. Because of its location it was rubbing on clothes, I couldn’t sleep or lie down. I couldn’t sit back in chairs. By day 8 the pain was so bad I was worried about infection. I’d started using alcohol wipes and savlon since day 5.
I went to the doctors who told me it was looking okay, no infection. They told me it’s going to be very sore simply because of the skin cells starting to die and separate. It put my mind at rest. No one else in reviews seemed to explain how sore it actually was. Maybe my skin is more sensitive. Even putting a plaster on for some reason the adhesive gave me an allergic reaction.
So although at that point I was starting to regret tagband. I was ready to give it a 1 star review. However thanks to my doctor I think was willing to stick with it a few more days to see what happens. She told me that the base didn’t look like it was dead so I would have a stump.
Day 10-11 comes by, I’ve worn no t shirts for 2 days. Lathering the thing with savlon. Then I just took a look in the mirror at the 15 year old one has gone!! The other is still there but I’m expecting it to fall off soon.
It’s left what I can only describe as a moon crater. Which I’m hoping will heal soon. But all in all the product worked. My 15 year old growth has gone. I can’t believe it. It hurt like hell the last 3-4 days. But it did exactly what it said it would! Plus it doesn’t seem to have left me with a stump. It’s literally a big hole I hope that will heal nicely.
If you get this product, just expect if you use it on a large skin tag, it might hurt like hell for a few days. But keep it clean, and ride it out!
Doesn't hurt, occasionally slightly uncomfortable. Took about 1 week for my skin tags to fall off.
My skin tags weren't tiny, and I thought the small bands would be too small, but they really aren't.
Even with the large bands I had to do the tag in stages. Each band was painful for the first hour and awkward to apply due to location. I also found they came off after a few days so I went through the bands quickly and had to order a refill. But ultimately it did the job. I am now tag free, happier and without spending £500
