Rain Bauer is a beautiful 22 year old woman. Her new home is a park bench on the sidewalk alongside a multi-story building of condominiums. Rain is homeless.

Ethan Hawthorne lives in a swanky 7th floor loft with his roommate Cade. Recently divorced, Ethan has been intrigued by a gorgeous homeless girl living on a bench below the window of his home for almost a month. When a terrible storm moves into town one night, he decides to offer her refuge from the storm.

The two roommates soon learn Rain is much different than any woman they’ve ever met.
She, in turn, learns the men are kind, considerate, and compassionate.

Cade, a mechanical engineer for a construction firm, and Ethan, a Harley riding motorcycle mechanic, are complete opposites. Soon, Rain finds herself falling for each of the two men, but for different reasons.

And so begins the dilemma of how to decide which man fits her best.

Give this book a try!!! Sexy story. Great characters. Solid writing. Wish there was a sequel cos the ending was so perfect I didn't want it to stop. Would love to know how the relationship develops between them.

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful story of unconvential love 15 June 2015
By Debbie - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Threefold is the story of Rain, Ethan and Cade. It's about an unconvental love that although not everyone will agree with it, you can't help but see that for this group of people it works perfectly.

Rain's stepfather starting abusing her when she was only eight years old. Although she told her mother what was happening, unbelievably she looked the other way. When Rain was fifteen, she finally ran away to stay with a friend until finishing high school. At twenty-two, she's lived on the streets for the last five years. No. It's not the life she wants. But often times, life isn't fair and we don't get to decide what happens.

Cade and Ethan are roommates and best friends. Ethan is a big muscled guy with tattoos who rides a Harley; whereas Cade is a smaller man who drives an expensive car and dresses liked he stepped out of GQ Magazine. They are complete opposites but have a bond stronger than most brothers.

Ethan has noticed the young woman sleeping on the bench in front of his building for the last month. Living in Kansas, bad weather is common and with a particularly bad storm on the way, he makes a decision. Ethan asks the woman to have dinner with he and Cade to stay safe from the weather. That night, the lives of Rain, Ethan and Cade change forever.

Within a week, Cade and Ethan ask Rain to stay and help get her a job. A strong friendship grows among them, as well as a special seperate bond between each man and Rain. Cade offers compassion and kindness. Ethan offers safety and strength. Rain opens the men's hearts to feelings neither realized they were missing. Before long, they can't imagine a life without all three in it. Everything happens for a reason, and someone makes the decision to do a selfless act that could alter the relationships they've developed.

I genuinely loved this book. There are some very touching moments and the characters will each have you falling for them for different reasons. Even though it is a M/F/M story, there are no threesome scenes for those of you who are uncomfortable with that. This book is full of love and acceptance and moving on with your life to accept things for what they are. It's about opening your heart and showing a kindness to others even though you may not be comfortable doing so. Ethan and Cade change Rain's life. For once in her life, Rain feels safe. She feels special and loved and believes she finally belongs somewhere. It truly was a beautiful story and I enjoyed it very much.

5.0 out of 5 stars MY NEW FAVORITE HILDRETH BOOK 27 April 2015
By Jen Campbell - Published on

Ok, Ummm… let’s see here, ummmmm, yeah, I am pretty sure I am not going to do this one justice, because honestly I am truly kinda speechless. I have read all Mr. Hildreth’s books and they have all touched me in some way, but this one I think, for today, is honestly my new favorite. TRIUMPH!!! That is the ONE word that I would use to describe this book.

The story starts with Rain Bauer. I will Ethan start her description…
“I smiled to myself, fully realizing I had every intention of spending the rest of my life trying to figure out just who Rain Bauer truly was. One of the most interesting people ever to exist, she was the love of a lifetime.
My lifetime. “
~ Ethan

I have loved almost all of Mr. Hildreth’s female lead characters but Rain I not only love but I admire her. I am drawn to people who have a certain level of depth in how they approach life at the same time NEVER take said life to seriously. She fit the bill in spades. She is a perfect example to me that you can never truly keep the blessing that you have been given endless you are willing to give it away and the below picture is one way that Rain does this….

“As I walked toward the bench, I considered how small change in perspective might spark a desire for her to make a permanent change. I realized the probability was small but I needed to try. Because I could.” ~ Rain

Next character in this amazing novel I will introduce you to is Cade Baker. He was indescribable in my opinion; you must read the book to fully embrace Cade. He sparked my very strong conviction of “Live and Let Live” for me. He was so amazingly human….

“For my entire life, my hopes, dreams, and aspirations have been just beyond reach of my consistently indecisive mind. Often wrestling with even simple decisions for all of an eternity, it seemed by the time I realized what it was exactly I yearned for, someone else had beat me to the decision I was all to scared to commit to. A day late and a dollar short, as they say. “ ~Cade

The third member of the fold was Ethan Hawthorne. Yes Ethan is opposite of Cade in a great number of things. At the same time this author keep me constantly realizing how much these men had in common.

"Just talk quick, E. You can do it."~Ryan
“They uhhm. They beat him to death. They claimed it was an accident, but it wasn’t.
It never is.” ~ Ethan

The author did a wonderful job in letting the reader into all three of these characters, I not only read about their journeys I felt their progress.

I felt that dynamic of the story does not begin or end with simply understanding who the characters were, but with grasping the interlaced devotion that they inspired with the way they chose to live their lives. Some would say the idea of how their relationship worked is frowned on by conventional society, but Mr. Hildreth did an unbelievable job at letting you into the emotion of what binds their hearts together. I was completely and utterly thrilled for all three of them to have found a love that they were able to share in such an honest, open mined and compassionate way.

I cannot even begin to explain all the amazing things that I felt while reading this story, and what I took with me, this is one of those amazing books that I would love to sit around a coffee shop with all my bookworm peeps and discuss for hours, and hours… Who needs book signings when book discussions would be sooo much better, whose coffee shop is first????? Again, simply TRUIMPH Scott, that is it, that is all I got…

Umm, actually one more thing… I had to add this to my review, because I write my reviews for me. At the same time to share with the people in my hula-hoop what I took away from a story and how what I read touched my life. The below picture/quote was very powerful to me, this message has been put in front of me on more than one front lately, which means I need to listen. Thank you Mr. Hildreth for the reminder, ok now I am done, that is it, that is all I got…

5.0 out of 5 stars Throw away your preconceived notions and just read this book! 27 April 2015
By Southern Belle - Published on

Where do I even begin? First of all, I am ashamed to say I was doubtful about this book. I didn't know if I wanted to read something that could be about a M/M/F relationship. That's not my cup of tea, if you know what I mean. With that being said, I trusted Scott and I one clicked. Having read most of his books, I knew the man could write. I knew he could wring emotion out of me. I never expected him to make me fall in love with these three characters. This book is so much more than just a M/M/F relationship. In fact, it's not about that at all. So just throw those notions and ideas out the window. This book is about love, it's about honesty, and it's about hope.

Rain is homeless. She lives on the streets and gets by as best she can. One day due to the threat of weather, Ethan decides to invite her inside his home and it's against his roommates wishes. They end up going from an awkward beginning to a tentative friendship. As the story progresses, we see that Ethan is so much more than the sum of his motorcycle, tattoos and long hair. He's a man that loves and loves deeply. He has scars on his heart and his soul that could have made him a hard and bitter man, instead he's man that has code of honor and loyalty to those he holds dear. There's no shame in me saying I love him. Cade is Ethan's roommate and he is such a genuine, gentle, loving soul. He's insecure because of how he's been treated all of his life but when he cares, he cares with his whole heart. Somehow these 2 men create the perfect man and they show Rain that she is worthy of love, respect and happiness.

So many times I teared up, and boy did I ever smile too. This book makes you stop and makes you think. Who has the right to tell you who it's ok to love? Or what makes a specific kind of love the right thing? You don't get a choice. Love just is. It finds you. Throw away your preconceived notions and read this book. It will make you love Scott Hildreth. I think we have only begun to see what a truly exceptional writer he is. What he writes comes from his soul. I have a feeling that if he didn't write, it might just kill him. I thank you, Scott for putting words to paper and sharing your beautiful heart and soul with all us. It's a privilege.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love of your life is waiting 28 April 2015

Scott you've gone and done it again. Every time a new book is released it just gets better! At the end of every one I'm left speechless. You are unbelievably gifted and the master of your craft. Just think if there we're more people with your talent the world would be a better place.

"The world is comprised of all different types of people. Regardless of how well you think you might know someone, from time to time they'll say or do something that will completely take you off guard, and change the way you'll look at them forever."

Funny thing happened last night. It's been a hectic couple of weeks and haven't had much time to read so when I heard "Threefold" was live I had to one-click and start reading immediately. I was sitting on the couch and my husband asks, "who are you reading now" and I answered, "Scott Hildreth" and then he says, "is he one of your favorite authors" and I said, "yes, he is." I'm sharing this with you because you take me off guard with your words and changed the way I look at life and I want to thank you for it.

I've only read a few MMF books and at first I'm always a little bit hesitant because I always seem to think it won't end well but the way you wrote their story is so incredibly beautiful. The timing for every sequence of events is perfect. Not only did I fall in love with Rain, Cade and Ethan but also Trent. I completely lost it when it came to this part, "he reached down and pinched the chest of his tee shirt in between his thumb and finger. As he pulled it forward, stretching it tight out in front of him, he grinned. You see what happens when you walk away?"

If I could rate this book more than 5 stars I would. Truly amazing Scott and I can't wait to read more!
