But then I don't like the Mr Bean series by Roan Atkinson so maybe it's just me.
The Switch is well written, I just found it very silly.

This is where Radcliffe comes on the scene and decides to help the young lady and her brother flee to London. Radcliffe is the complete opposite of Charlie. Everything in his life is just so. He is content with a quiet life. Until now. Radcliffe’s home turns from quiet and orderly into a place of respite for everyone. From Charlie and Beth, to puppies and some more lovely other people mixed in! All because of the strangely-attractive but infuriating brother “Charlie” and his shenanigans. Radcliffe notices that there are times when Charlie does not seem himself and he feels as though he is talking to a completely different person. He feels no spark, no lust and nothing for the boy but friendship, however on other days he totally questions his entire sexuality and mind-set because of the boy! And he cannot for the life of him, figure out why…
Charlie is the spirited twin. The adventurous and fun one. Beth is the sweet, caring and kind one. It is Charlie’s quick thinking that got her into this mess and the more she tries to wriggle out of it, the closer to Radcliffe she becomes. Try as she may to leave before she falls for him and the inevitable happens, her plan never seems to work this time…
I loved The Switch a ton. It is a historical love story with a HEA, set in London. I wasn’t sure what to expect because I have never read any of Sands’ work and stumbled happily upon this wee gem. This story had me laughing out loud and sitting in a state of shock (especially in a scene where Radcliffe tries to “man” Charlie up a bit!) which was so refreshing for a historical romance. I was expecting it to be a stuffy story with a cute little HEA, but it was so much more than I had hoped. The story showed how you may be happy with a standard life where you go to work, come home and socialise, but you never really feel complete without that loved one in your life who flips everything on it’s head and makes life worth living. The only reason I am not giving 5 hearts is just because I felt that it went on a little too long. It didn’t take away from the story at all, I just felt that there was a natural end point and the story surpassed that for me. Normally I would love this but I think this may have been because I read it in a day and was a bit overwhelmed by the entire journey at that point – hehe. I couldn’t help it! It was un-put-down-able. And yes, that is a word… made by me ;-)
