Initially, I wasn't that interested in reading book 3, as I wanted to get onto the story about Ally. 'Who's Lexie, anyway?' I thought. She was only referenced here and there in the series. Because book 3 was a lead-in to Ally's book, I downloaded it, thinking, 'I'll just rush though it.' Then I read the preamble from Tillie and realised the book was going to be addressing a serious health issue. I wasn't sure I was up to it, but I pressed on.
Thank you, Tillie for providing authentic insight into this terrible scourge, anorexia. You wove this theme seemlessly throughout the narrative. I have known a couple of girls who suffered from this illness. I sympathised, but never really understood their thinking. Now, I feel I can better empathise.
It's amazing that a off-the-cuff comment or a cruely aimed insult can alter a person's life forever. The inner voice can take over and dominate or steer a person's life from then on. It may be possible to beat it down, but impossible to stop it from rearing it's ugly head from time to time, especially when your personal trigger is set off. Equally, a positive comment can be a powerful, pivotal moment for other people.
Tillie, your writing was fantastic and character development, excellent. Austin and Lexie were each other's strengths and I'm really glad I went on their journey. I thought I wouldn't be able to relate to the small, goth girl, but I found I could connect with her in many ways. Loved it!

About the Author
Tillie Cole hails from a small town in the North-East of England. She grew up on a farm with her English mother, Scottish father and older sister and a multitude of rescue animals. As soons as she could, Tillie left her rural roots for the bright lights of the big city. Tillie has now settled in Austin, Texas, where she is finally able to sit down and write, throwing herself into fantasy worlds and the fabulous minds of her characters. When she is not writing, Tillie enjoys nothing more than curling up on her couch watching movies, drinking far too much cofee, while convincing herself that she really doesn't need that extra square of chocolate.

This book was so very different to what I first imagined it would be. I absolutely loved it.
Lexie's & Austin's lives are heart-breaking. The story line was so well written you felt their pain as their lives unfolded in very different ways.
This book draws you in, and towards the end of the book the letter Lexie wrote was so powerful. My lip trembled, my hand started to shake and when I finished the letter I had to take a moment to compose myself. Life is not always fair, but sometimes you find your soul mate along the way to give you the strength to be the person you should be.
If ever there was a book that is "must read" it is without a doubt this book.

Austin may just be my favourite man yet. He is flawed, but he has hopes and dreams yet he is still willing to sacrifice them. He is strong willed yet sweet. He looks rough but can be just as broken, he really is pretty perfect. Lexi has faults too and i think they played out really well. Even though the nature of them is quite serious her thoughts and actions are completely believable. I love that two lost souls come together no matter how they may look to other people.
Sweet Fall is a little darker than the other two books, maybe a little more intense but it is still written with amazing talent. I would recommend it. It is a stand alone but characters from the previous books do appear.

I can't even begin to tell you how AMAZING this book was!
This was one of the deepest yet sweetest books I have read!!!
It was my first book by Tillie Cole and I CANNOT WAIT to get my hands on another one of her books!!!
I think what really made this book FANTASTIC was how well it was written - the authors' foreword was very touching!
Lexie's story is heart-breaking - she is broken and tries so hard to shield herself from the world. Her "demons" are very powerful and is an issue that can relate to a lot of women. Austin is just as broken with a very different story to Lexie's, but together they make one beautiful story!
I can guarantee you won't be disappointed that you read this book, but ensure you have the time up your sleeve when you do as it is not one that can be easily put down!
Oh, and make sure you have PLENTY of tissues!

I cried! I cried! And I cried!!! This book was a roller coaster of emotions - highly addictive and heart breaking! Austin is painfully flawed and Lexi is fighting her own internal battles. When these two characters come together, their struggles fall away, and their love for each other shines through. Highly recommended!! Bring tissues!!

While I never finished the first book in series I absolutely devoured Sweet Fall. I never wanted it to end.
Lexi and Austin definitely did not have a very good start but Austin more than made up for it. I loved the slow build of their relationship and that always saw the best in each other.
A definite must read!

part 3 of the series (though it can be a standalone book) and it so did not disappoint!

Blown away! Two words that only just begin to describe how this book touched and infiltrated my mind, heart and soul. One of those books that stays with you 1 hour, 10 hours, 24 hours and more after reading it. I cried many times throughout the book. I felt the pain, I felt every emotion right along with Austin and his Lexie. I read Romeo and Molly's story and was so excited when I saw this book, part 3 of the series (though it can be a standalone book) and it so did not disappoint!! Looking forward to the next one! Thank you Ms Cole for the beauty of a well written book!

"why the war paint pix?"

"why the war paint pix?" a line that will forever be a part of me. My favourite line in this book that most will not understand. Not many will truly understand the depth of wearing your war paint every day. I know. I've done it. I've hidden behind the mask, not for the same reasons but the sentiment is the same.
I think this is one of my favourite books ever! Austin is such a damaged boy with far too much weight on his shoulders, and yet he still helps his Lexi, his Pix. In the end they both need to fight to save each other.
Its a heart wrenching, beautiful, angsty, drama filled book of perfection. If I could give more stars I would.

Hard hitting emotional truthful story.
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 October 2018Verified Purchase
Wow this book certainly packs a punch... and its a hard going emotional truthful reality of a punch.
If you are going to read this get ready for the emotional rollercoaster that has been written so well you cant help but have your heart strings pulled.
So after reading Molly and Rome's stories previously i was really keen to start on Austin and Lexis book to see juat what is happening between the pair and it just shows you sometimes have no clue whats happening right infront of you.
Both characters struggling with major life issues that are so common yet are rarely spoken about as people are wary or dont know what to say but what i can say this gives you a very detailed insight into anorexia and just how it makes you feel.. mind body and soul consuming... and it was written in such a way that just hits you right in the emotions!
I demolished this book in just a few hours as didnt want to put it down.
This series just continues to get better and better which i didnt expect after loving the first 2 books so much.

Heartbreaking but worth it

After reading Sweet Home and Sweet Rome, I immediately moved onto Sweet Fall. I couldn’t wait to read about Austin and Lexi, I’d been curious about them and their relationship throughout the past two books and needed to know more!
However, this book isn’t as easy to read, or as enjoyable, as the first two in this wonderful series.
It’s darker. It’s harder.
The relationship between Austin and Lexi is fraught with complications and there was more than one occasion while reading this book that I had to put it down and just take a moment to breathe as Lexi’s pain, or the suffering of the Carillos, overtook me.
The connection between Austin and Lexi was vibrant and beautiful but dulled by the harshness of their circumstances and I mourned what could have been so beautiful while suffering along with them and hoping that it would all be okay in the end.
The good news is that everything works out okay, but it’s a long journey to get there and their happy ever after didn’t feel as euphoric as Rome and Molly’s… Despite it all working out, there was still too much baggage left lying around.
It’s a great book for making you think. For showing that the world isn’t black and white, that people are not good or bad, but many shades of grey.
It’ll make you feel so much and leave you emotionally drained but it’s worth it and once again you get a wonderful epilogue that shines enough light on the darkness to truly banish the shadows and give you that happy ever after.
Oh! And for fans of the first two books, the events of this book are interwoven so you get to see things between Rome and Molly from an outside perspective which made my inner fangirl squeeee in happiness!

Brilliant but somewhat heavy!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 24 April 2015Verified Purchase
Well gonna have to get me a more cheerful book to read next time. This is the second book in a row that I have read that has been very sad and heavy. I love Tillie Cole's writing and this was exceptionally well written and researched with what I would definitely guess to be first hand experience of the subject matter.
Lexington who has severe body issues writes her feelings in a journal to her dead best friend Daisy. The diary entries are heartbraking and I really cannot imagine what someone like that suffers; every day is a struggle. Lexi falls for Austin a half Italian bad boy trying to get out from under the thumb of a drug dealing gang and be good, whilst keeping an eye on his sick mother and his younger brother. The young couple meet at college Austin is on the football team while Lexi is a cheerleader.
I'm not quite sure what to say about this book. Lexi and Austin were both strong, sweet characters in their own way, but the book content was heavy and somewhat depressing at times, but then other times it was brilliant and you held your breath and felt their pain. It's not really my kind of book as I don't usually enjoy college or high school romances but I do recommend this book and after deliberation I really have to give it 5 well deserved stars.

Sweet Fall will make you feel many emotions as it reveals real life struggles people face, some which are plain to see every day whilst others that are too unbearable to share and hidden by smiles. The author Tillie Cole wrote some parts from her own personal experience, which made this story hit home that much fiercer and led to many heart breaking tears to surface. Lexington Hart comes from a loving and supportive family, she is surrounded by her amazing friends Molls, Ally, and Cass yet they are all oblivious to the self-destructive inner monologue that plagues her, and never leaves her side kept protected under her Goth exterior. Her dreams of being the best cheerleader for the Crimson Tide is what steers her thoughts and actions. Austin Carillo is a wide receiver for the Crimson Tide and needs to make sure he gets picked for the NFL draft. Focusing on his dream is vital to save his brothers from a gang life he left behind and to pay for his mother's health as it deteriorates. When Lexi finds herself to be in the wrong place with the sexy as sin tattooed bad boy Austin, the pair are instantly drawn to one another not fooled by the façade they both keep in place for the world to see. A relationship forms between Austin and Lexi and as he makes her feel loved and protected her walls start to break. The love they share is sweet, gentle, beautiful, and compassionate but is soon cut short when they are reminded how different their lives are and are led to fight through their own path of heartache and destruction. A tear jerker of a read covering many issues but hit high on love, strength, family, friends, responsibility and gang life. I loved Austin but Levi and Axel stole my heart too and I would love to read more about them!
