"This is a phenomenal series. I laughed, cried, and enjoyed every heat, anxiety, and heart-wrenching minute of this book. Fans of the series will grab this one up without a thought, but you newbies don't know what you are missing. I devoured the story in one sitting and was left gasping at the end. If only the author didn't need to sleep, eat, and otherwise have a life, we could get the next book sooner! So with a sigh, I'll anxiously begin the wait... " Sue T. I really enjoyed this story. The scifi world, culture, rivalries and technologies are really well described early enabling a reader to use their imagination! I liked the way that Rachel is fighting for justice never giving up proving her innocence and learning what she can't the new customs that she needs to come to terms with. The story is written from the POV of Rachel, Maxim and Ryston detailing their thoughts, feelings, emotions, experiences as they explore their relationship and maintain hope for their planet. There are several steamy scenes that are kindle melting! There's a HEA
I enjoyed this book. The first in the series, stand alone, with an HEA and a quick read. For adults due explicit sexual content, with consensual DP and anal sex. Great character development, affection and love as well as lust. I look forward to reading the next in series
An okay read, didn't hate but didn't love it either as I dislike what happened to Brooks. Really not needed.
Will probably pick up the next book.
Thought the forgiveness at the end with the mothers too simplistic.
Would like the warden Agara to get her story told.

Slowly, Rachel begins to adapt to her new life. Meeting Prime Nial, his second and their mate Lady Jessica. During a formal meal, a problem is revealed, after one of the few humans saved from the. Hive suddenly dies. Using her skills, Rachel discovers that implants the men have, have been switched back on. Shortly after a traitor is uncovered but manages to escape.
All ends well. Rachel and her warriors get together, and the events that led to a jail sentence are revealed and justice dealt.
It was a pleasant enough read, but I do find that the author 'humanises' the aliens with their vocabulary and actions. This irritates me when reading.
Rachel, the wrongly accused biochemist, was matched to the Prillion rejected cyborgs on the Colony and as in all the brides, she needed more than looks to save her men. She would need all her skills as a scientist and her determination to protect and repair her insecure heroes, to save her mate Maxim from death and live happily ever after with their second, Ryston.
Ms Goodwin's writing makes you really care about the characters in her stories and they seem so alive and real. I desperately wanted everything to work out for these rejected veterans and Rachel, who could see past their outward imperfections and help to mend their troubled souls.
Loving the Colony matches, more please!!! Can't wait for the next book.
