They are all good and it is a shame that there are not more of them.
It is an interesting style mixing quite a dangerous situation, with complicated relationship and some real laugh out loud humour (largely one liners) - caustic commentary from Austin the cat, squabbling from the hell hole in the basement and some jokes I missed on the first read, mainly around the deliberately stereotypical Canadian french wants-to-be-romantic ghost.
All the characters are done well and are a bit different from the usual run of the mill. I particularly enjoyed the mix of guests turning up at the Elysian Fields Guest House and the Halloween night.
It was light, enjoyable reading. I especially enjoyed the conversations Hell had (usually with itself).
They were hilarious.
In the end, I was walking round carrying this book whilst reading it.
It was nice to read a book that didn't tax me too much, made me smile and occasionally chuckle out loud.
I have the other two and am really looking forward to reading them now.
I started with the blood books which were good but not as good these :o)
Whether you like strong female characters or good winning versus evil you'll enjoy this and if on top of that you have or have had cats then you will love Austin's insights too :o)
