Melody is a survivor. I know this because I was in a similar accident as her, only I received far more serious injuries. I am aware that people handle things in different ways, but her instant decision to quit her life passion was infuriating to me. I couldn't understand why she didn't appreciate the opportunities she still had and instead chose to give up. Sean, as previously mentioned... meh! I couldn't understand him and eventually I just didn't want to.
But this does mean that Ryan and Leah's book is next! Holy effing sh*t balls, I'm so freaking excited for their story!
Drummer Sean Taiden is tired; tired of living in the shadows of his bandmates success, tired of being the unknown member of Reckless Beat and tired of being in love with his best friend’s girl. All he wants is a little recognition and a distraction and luckily for Sean, he may have found both when Sean is chosen to take the lead in Reckless Beats new music video and the chorographer he’s paired with makes him feel good for the first time in a long time. Melody Jenkins had it all; fame, popularity and a successful dancing career until an accident saw her scarred, physically and emotionally. Retreating into herself, Melody owns and operates a small dance studio but yearns for the days when she was confidant and whole. Agreeing to teach Sean to dance seems easy enough….until it becomes clear Sean is more interested in her than dancing. But with Melody’s fears and insecurities running as rampant as ever, will Sean be able to convince the woman he’s coming to adore to give him a chance? Or will Melody let her past define her?
Sultry Groove is another brilliant Reckless Beat book! Highly entertaining, sexy, thrilling and soooo addictive, Sultry Groove tells Sean’s tale; finally allowing readers into the heart and head of Reckless Beats drummer. Featuring a fun storyline full of sexual heat and sexual innuendos, Sultry Groove had all the snappy and sassy dialogue I previously enjoyed with this series.
I have to say I found Sean really sexy. There's something about this big guy with the wicked cheeky and flirty nature I really dug. But oh how my heart felt for Sean too in this novel. We discovered his feelings for Sidney in the last book, but I don't think anyone really had any idea of the depth of those feelings until this story. It was sad to see how much Sean struggled with his lot in life but I commend Eden Summers for the way she developed Sean and helped him come to grips with what he really wanted and how he really felt. I loved the moment when he saw what he felt for Melody for what it really was.
As Sean's match I did like Melody, although perhaps not as much as the other female leads in the series. I liked her vulnerability and that even though she was small, that she went barb for barb, bite for bite against Sean and wasn't daunted by his size, desires and attitude. I thought her self loathing was a bit tiresome and was really thrilled when she began to see her worth towards the end of the story.
Setting up the next story and including all the characters I've previously lived including the other Reckless Beat members, Sultry Groove was well worth a read and leaves me keen to jump straight into the next tale, stat!

This is the fourth book in the Reckless a Beat series and it’s time for Reckless Beat’s drummer Sean Taiden.
Eden Summers has without doubt delivered another fantastic read to this series. It’s very rare that all the books of series captivate me as much as this one has, not that I’m complaining in the slightest!
I love the chemistry of this band! I’m so invested in them it’s crazy!
My heart broke for Sean and I’m so happy he found Melody although she too had her own obstacles to overcome. Their relationship was endearing to witness, it was full of nervous, awkward moments and things being said but when it came down to the bedroom all that was certainly forgotten. They were hot!
There were a few times I wanted to scream at Melody. She did frustrate me on more than one occasion but overall I liked her and I guess I could understand why she acted like that.
Another great addition!
This instalment in the Reckless Beat saga sees Sean struggling to move on from the fallout of Mason and Sidney finally committing to each other. Sean feels abandoned and forgotten. Cue Melody, a choreographer with a past she’s also struggling to move on from. She’s here to put Sean in the spotlight he badly craves.
The angst, mistrust and miscommunication are in full flow here. They are both broken, but only they can fix themselves. They can’t rely on others to do it for them. Trying to figure all of this out while working together and giving in to mutual attraction makes for a whole slew of feelings.
Once again, the writing is absolutely on point. I spent large parts of this book with my stomach in knots, hoping that the characters would get their happy ending.
Another stellar story from Eden Summers.
