3.0 out of 5 stars Stronger with Him 17 July 2015
By Mandi J - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
I sat trying to figure out exactly how to go about this review for quite some time. To be honest, I did enjoy the book, but I had multiple issues with it as well.

First off, I would like to say that I was impressed with the editing and grammar of this book. So often that's a glaring disruption, but this one did quite well with that aspect.

I have often heard people say that the "meat" of a story was missing. However, with Stronger with Him, it felt more like all the condiments were missing. The story line was there, but there weren't enough details or development to back it up.

The story had a very interesting premise, and I found myself intrigued with the suspense and mystery. However, I felt the character development and depth were lacking. It seemed as though the author never scratched past the surface level of any character.
I enjoyed Colin. I feel like he was the one character that we did learn a little about. I couldn't even say exactly what Becca looked like. I can't even picture her in my head, and honestly I didn't really enjoy her very much. We were told that she was a good, sweet girl, but I never really "felt" it. It disturbed me that the girlfriends always referred to each other as bit*ches, wh*res, or the NEVER acceptable "C" word. I can imagine referring to my girls as bit*ches on a rare occasion, but not often, and certainly I would never use the others. Then there is Colin's interactions with his brother Jude. It was always hostile, but I have no idea why. We're never told, but he's always derogatory when addressing him. Always. The language felt gratuitous and made the characters seem juvenile.

I absolutely did not understand the rationale behind Adam's character or Becca's long lost friend Steve that threw Christin down for a kiss upon first meeting her, yet then we never see or hear from him again. It was odd. Rather than either character adding to the storyline, they both took away from it.

Then there were the sex scenes where both characters seem to be able to "O" within two strokes. I didn't feel any romance or chemistry between the characters. The passion was lacking. We see that Colin becomes possessive within minutes, but I'm not sure why. They meet and within moments he's got to have her, but there's no connection between them. I need to really "Feel" that connection and passion. Just getting told that they're feeling it doesn't rouse my soul to their romance.

With that being said, it did hold my interest enough that I kept reading. I was intrigued by the suspense, and I wanted to know how it would play out.

1.0 out of 5 stars DNF - bored and no connection with h 7 November 2014
By D Smith - Published on Amazon.com

Took a risk with only 5 reviews - should have trusted my instincts and not bothered. Started to skip at 25% and only made it to 60% before calling it done. Flat characters, including the h friends (not sure why everyone else thought they were great), a plot with no suspense and v vanilla sex (both what they did and how I felt about reading it). On the good side, it may have gotten better towards the end and the editing was pretty spot on. Fail for me though.

1.0 out of 5 stars Stronger with Him was too weak for me. 4 January 2015
By LovesBooks - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
The main character Becca and her friends come off as very immature and unlikeable. The cussing was unnecessary and juvenile which takes away from the story. (Some books benefit from it, others do not.) I got tired of reading cliché's every other sentence. I didn't understand why Adam was written into the story at all. He takes away from Colin, and makes Becca look cheap and easy. I didn't understand why Adam tells Becca he's a stockbroker with some generic local firm during their first meeting, then states he lives and breathes the night club he just opened in their second. Their flirting session reads more like a job interview and then they're all over each other. I just didn't get it.
Colin's inner dialog was lame and annoying. The sex scenes were vanilla and boring, and apparently Colin is a two minute man. At least that's how it reads. Not hot at all for the H, but it gave me a good laugh.
The story idea was good, but the author just didn't deliver. The writing was lacking and terrible. There were many typos and grammatical issues that kept pulling me out of the story.
I know there will more than likely be stories for Stephanie and Kevin and Jude and Christen, but I honestly didn't grow to care about any of these characters. I will not be reading any more books by this author.

3.0 out of 5 stars Fun! Suspenseful 8 December 2014
By Sarah Reads - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
Mysterious! Fun! Suspenseful! Are just a few words I would describe this book. Author JA Hensley takes us on a ride from the very moment you start this book. I absolutely loved Agent Colin Schaefer.

I may get mobbed for saying this but one character I loved was Ronaldo. JA Hensley can write a great crazy stalker ex. This man kept me on my toes the entire book. I was always wondering what this man was up to. I would have loved a few point of views from Ronaldo. It would have intensified the twist and turns unfolding.

Rebecca “Becca”Maio just couldn’t seem to keep herself out of trouble. Trouble seemed to follow this girl everywhere she went. Good thing Sexy Agent Colin Schaefer moved in next door. The playful between Becca and Colin was great to read.

Colin’s point of views kept me engaged and ready for action. This Sexy Agent was absolutely drool worthy. He took his job seriously and knew there was more to his mysterious neighbor Becca’s story.
This man was great at his job even when Becca threw him for a loop. And the crap his boys gave him for getting involved was great to read.

4.0 out of 5 stars Colin and Becca - Stronger together. 20 June 2016
By Romance between the Sheets - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
This is my second book by this author and I really enjoyed this story, we got both POV of main characters along with suspense, humour and passionate scenes. Colin definitely helped Becca to be Stronger With Him.

So Colin and Becca are two great characters and I easily connected with them. I actually found Becca's two friends a bit annoying at the beginning of this book but they kind of grew on me by the end and when it counted they stood up for her and were the friends she needed.

I struggled with the kidnapping chapters, I felt it was rushed and all of a sudden they found her and it was all over red rover. I needed some deeper build up with Ron and Becca and I also found some characters in the book just disappeared where I felt they could have added further dimension to the story. For instance with Adam the nightclub owner I though he could have been bought further into the story, considering he and Becca had a moment as they say. He could have been involved in Ron's world or perhaps as an ex uncover agent on Colin's side of town, it was just something I thought odd and it would have added further depth to the whole undercover/drugs story line with innocent Becca in the middle and all these hot guys wanting her.

I loved how Colin came in and supported Becca in her journey to escape her aggressive boyfriend Ron and their sex scenes were hat and I thoroughly enjoyed them.
