Product Description

WARNING: STRINGS is not suitable for slut shamers, uptight stone throwers, Holier-Than-Thou prudes, humorless virgins, persons with chronic neck or back pain, pearl-clutching bitties, those who disparage crude humor or vulgarity in their many forms, closed-minded people with sticks up their asses, or anyone under the age of 18. The vile, base language and shocking, unholy sexual acts contained herein are not condoned by anyone with a lick of sense and should certainly not be reproduced without proper training and protection. The potty-mouthed and perpetually horny "heroine" (the term is used loosely) of this book does not resemble a normal, well-adjusted, or remotely believable person in any way, shape, or form. The author acknowledges that the characters in this book are shallow and two-dimensional; the plot is both ridiculous and insipid. She makes no apologies for any of it.

* Readers are strongly advised to wear latex gloves whilst reading to minimize contamination risks.

Free-spirited musician Letty Dillinger adheres to a strict, “no strings attached” policy when it comes to men. After a wild night of unabashed sex in a fancy hotel room, she never expects to see the adventurous stud she dubs “Shades” again. When her all-girl rock trio books a tour at the last minute as the opening act for their archenemies, Letty’s shocked to discover she knows the competition’s new lead singer. Intimately. Shades is no longer a one-night stand. Now he’s the guy she has to one-up on stage every night for the sake of her career.

Sharing close quarters on a bus with her sexy nemesis and his bad-boy buddies puts Letty’s Golden Rule to the test. On this tour, guitar strings aren’t the only things being played. And when heartstrings are pulled too hard, they’re bound to snap sooner or later.

This book was wow. It is hard to put into words what I felt about this book but I laughed hard throughout this. This book is definitely porn in words. Take the authors warning seriously you will not like this if you don't like your story raw and dirty, especially the sex scenes.

Letty and Shades are awesome, they seriously have a connection. Petty is tough as nails and Shades just goes with the flow.

This book has been on my TBR list forever and I'm glad I finally read it. Now onto Strings.

An interesting style of writing. The character came through loud and clear, even in the structure and syntax of the story which is a credit to the author.
It was light, easy to read but quite graphic - definitely not one to be read by anyone with an inclination to clutch their pearls.

5.0 out of 5 stars STRINGS Kills 9 August 2013
By V. Rundell of V's Reads - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
If Kendall Grey wrote political ads her candidates would never get elected. She's that brutally honest.

She is also either a complete maniac or an erotica genius. Her novel STRINGS (Hard Rock Harlots #1) has a disclaimer that elevates an NC-17 rating to art. And Holy Goodness, is it accurate.

So...if you don't want your delicate sensibilities obliterated by a nuclear blast of shameless lewdness, stop right now. STRINGS is NOT YOUR BOOK.

I absolutely loved it.

Letty Dillinger is bass guitarist for the female rock trio Cherry Buzz Float. Sexual inhibition is not a concept with which she is familiar. If it can be done, she done did it. Maybe twice.

'Course, Cherry Buzz Float isn't quite a household name, and Letty's barely making enough as a waitress to keep herself housed. On her 25th birthday she's half-drunk, lamenting her bad fortune, when she meets a sunglasses-wearing man she dubs 'Shades' willing to indulge in her wicked fantasies involving a bottle of tequila, a strap-on, and his backfield.

Yeah. She's naughty.

This one night stand probably wouldn't change Letty's day-to-day except she gets a call the next day from her manager with the Good News/Bad News.

Good News: Cherry Buzz Float has been booked on a tour! Yahoo! Dream-Come-True!

Bad News: The tour headliner is Killer Dixon, a rival band who MAY have stolen a song from Cherry Buzz Float.

It isn't until the two bands get together that Letty learns the Really Bad News: The new lead singer of Killer Dixon is--wait for it....

SHADES!!! ;)

Now all Letty has to do to live her rock dream is to keep the Shades-encounter on the down-low and maintain peace between her bandmates and Killer Dixon whilst all sharing the same tour bus for a month.

In truth, I doubt an angel could manage this supernatural feat.

And Letty ain't no angel.

Good for us. Because the wild ride is so fraught with tension you can hear the reverb for miles.

Even better? The attraction between Letty and Shades develops it's own zip code. And the animosity between the bands could power Alaska through the winter twilight.

Spoiler #1: Cherry Buzz Float implodes.

Spoiler #2: Happily Ever After

If you like when a novel causes your panties to explode and are willing to accept multi-partner sexcapades (x 1) you will find the irreverent STRINGS to be a hoot. Pack some toiletries--or a wet-nap if you're beach bound--to clean up afterwards.

Fearless readers will undoubtedly learn some new lingo to describe: sex, naughty bits, bodily fluids, and love.

The sequel, BEATS, slated for release August 29th. Yeah, it's on my TBR at Goodreads.

5.0 out of 5 stars I Don't Even Know Where To Start 26 April 2013

Never have I bought a book just on the Warning that was provided! And buyer beware, if you fit into any one of the categories Kendall Grey has laid out, you will probably have a heart attack when you read this.
I have never read anything that was so raunchy, yet made me laugh out loud at the same time. When I wasn't giving a good LOL, I was snickering. When I wasn't snickering, I was saying to myself..."Oh, can really do that?" When my brain wasn't on overdrive imagining the possibilities, I was cringing...and once, I even think I threw up in my mouth.
Here's the thing: this is hard core raunch, but if you take that away, I'm telling you...Kendall Grey writes exquisitely. She could write in any genre and I'd read her.
Well done!
P.S. Love Shades...

5.0 out of 5 stars Hot, Hot, HAWT!! Letty and Shades are a force to be reckoned with! 4 June 2015
By Tiffany Williams - Published on

"My name is Letty Dillinger, and I was born to rock your face off. If you come to one of my shows, you'll leave either wanting to be me or wanting to do me."

THIS BOOK!! This freakin book!!!! Amazeballs!

I could not get enough of Cherry Buzz Float and all that revolves around The Rock! Not only was it awesome reading about a girl band that sounds like 70s rock music (I kept picturing The Runaways), but you also got a glimpse into life on the road. But not just a normal tour. Nope. That would be too easy. This was the ultimate collaboration!!!

Cherry Buzz Float with Killer Dixon! It doesn't sound like much if you haven't read the story, but believe me, It's AMAZING! Mainly because Letty never knew that a pair of Shades could flip her world upside down...and then some;)

"His hard stare bores into my head where I'm naked, and not in the good way. I don't like how he affects me. It's dangerous."

Gahhhhh!!! This book was hot, Hot, HAWT! From the first chapter until the last, this book leaves you hot and bothered...and wanting more! Letty and Shades are a force to be reckoned with, and they are both strong-willed. Nothing stands in the way of what they want. Even if what they want turns out to be something different than what they planned.

"Much as I don't want to admit it, he's my sexual soul mate. No inhibitions. No fear. No boundaries. And tomorrow I have to go back to pretending I don't give a crap."

Letty is one Bad-A chick and Shades is her match, and the ride they lead you on is awesome! I was so happy when I found out that these two groups had more stories to tell! Each character that you meet leaves an impression in your mind. I need more!!!

"We stare at each other for a long moment. No physical touching, but he's singing me a lullaby and cradling my freaking soul with that look. Bare, naked, raw. Him."

Thank you Kendall! You have made a series that isn't the norm. It's loud, proud, and all about The Rock!!!

"Are your strings ready to be plucked?"
"By you? All day, every day. Pour some Letty on me."

5.0 out of 5 stars Raunchy Love Story - A New Genre? 6 August 2013
By Romance Lover - Published on

Please pay heed to the warning Kendall gives at the beginning of the book. If you fit into any of those categories, you won't like it.

I read all genres, so the warning didn't dissuade me as much as Kendall herself. I didn't know what to expect - while Kendall was writing it, she bemoaned the fact that she was "selling out". So it took me a long time to pick up the book, but I'm really glad I did. "Strings" isn't your typical jump-on-the-band-wagon erotica. (Frankly, it is NOT EROTICA. It's Raunch.) This isn't any previously-defined genre. "Strings" is a love story with a white trash, guitar-playing heroine, Letty, and a guitar-playing son of privilege, Shades. As I read it, I was sure people like this exist because it is such raunch, so ordinary a raunch - why wouldn't these people be out there, living and breathing and having the kind of sex we all wish we dared to have in our twenties?

Yes, this is raunchy. Yes, Kendall stretches credibility a couple of times (some acts are NOT sanitary, and provoke an "ewww" response), but overall this is a laugh-out-loud sex-fest, especially when Letty trots out the most amazing labels for sex organs. Those alone had me giggling. The plot (yes, there is a plot) has few surprises, but it's a very satisfying plot. The characters are well-thought-out, perfectly delineated, and you just know these people are walking on this planet.

But the amazing thing is, from Letty's unwise drinking at the top of the book, through all the raunchy sex scenes and euphemisms, and to the snuggle-fest at the end, there's a smart, tender love story between two absolutely fearless people. Letty's love for rock n' roll, for her band mates, for the band she's sharing a tour bus with, and ultimately for Shades; it's all there. So every time Letty thinks about playing in front of an audience, every time the writing turns to music, and every time Letty realizes the strings that bind her are much more than the ones on her guitar, it's a beautiful piece of writing. Funnily enough, it is those bits of Kendall's writing that have stuck with me - those jolts to Letty's world - not the sex scenes.

Only Kendall Grey could have written this book. It doesn't follow in the wake of any previous author - "Strings" is its own animal. Kendall Grey is an amazing author. I loved her "Inhale" series - if you're not into raunch, go read that and help save some whales.

5.0 out of 5 stars Slap me bare and call me sassy! 19 March 2014
By Gloria Herrera for As You Wish Reviews - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase
Warning! Warning! This is not for the straight-laced or faint of heart!

Having said that, to quote this book "SLAP ME BARE AND CALL ME SASSY!"

Loved the unique writing style and rhythm of the prose! Talk about creative... I cannot give examples because it would be NC-17 rated. I don't want to offend anyone, but prepare yourself for a million definitions and ways to call the ... vajajay.

I loved how the author "strings" together her characters. The double entendre of the title should clue you in as to the creativity level of Kendall Grey. I quote: "When you think about it, strings exist everywhere. Not just between those we're connected to long term -- families, friends-- but also between band mates and fans."

Letty is totally insane with trying to succeed making music. She is very gifted; just looking for the opportunity to shine. A one-night-stand with a stranger leads to a most amusing and stimulating situation. Shades, as she nicknames Todd Armstrong, is here to stay as a band member of their enemy band and she must deal with her feelings the best way she can.

I have to admit I had a smile on my face for most of the time as I was reading this book. The only exceptions were the times when I had to laugh out loud or cry out OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! Yep! People around me thought I had absolutely lost my brains.

I hope you pick up this book and zone in to The Rock and the rhythm of this crazy chick on her way to stardom.
