So, there are three full length novels and three novellas (so far) in this series... And I may have read all three novellas in the space of two days. This one was surprising! Plot twists I didn't see coming, and some quite dark themes that were treated with care and respect, but overall a hopeful and uplifting read. Terrific to get to know some of the minor characters from the novels, too - I always wonder what happens to those characters, and whether they find their happily ever after!

I loved this new story from Lindzee Armstrong. It is a clean romance with characters I can identify with. It takes time for this relationship to develop. It is an interesting journey.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best in this series for me 15 April 2017

This was a book that i had to read twice before I wrote my review. Once to read the book and the second time to really enjoy the book. I liked this book both times but it has a stronger note to this one than her other books do. In this book we meet and get to know Kate. She has lived a hard life with an abusive husband. That makes it a hard read for some. Her house burns with him in it and in doing so sets her free from him.Do you feel safe? Do you feel guilty? Both. This is her story and path to finding love. I want to leave the review at there for you to discover the rest.

This book for me was deeper than most of Lindzee Armstrong's other books in this series but very good. It was well worth the read.
4.0 out of 5 stars Young widow ready to date found her match to be the firefighter that comforted her that dreadful night 22 April 2017

Strike a Match featured an interesting meet-cute and rather unusual angst to add push-pull between the two main characters. The rest of the romance is pretty standard.

Kate lost her husband in a house fire, and it took her 18 months to get over it. What she can't tell anyone was she was emotionally abused by her husband who suffered a workplace injury and basically just sits at home, drink, smoke, and brood, and she was secretly glad that phase of her life is over, then she's suddenly regretful that she can feel relief... And this time, Kate is determined to find the right man... with a matchmaking company called Toujour. She did not expect to be matched with the firefighter from that night that gave her the bad news... Taylor. Taylor has a few problems in his personal life and more than a few dysfunctional relationships, but he was intrigued by the widow from that night, his first fire fatality, not that he ever expected to see her again. Except she doesn't want any reminders to that awful night... And Taylor needs to change her mind or lose her forever.

As I said, it's an interesting meet-cute and serendipity that brought them back together. And he was totally honest, as he recognized her first, but she didn't. But it's basically about leaving the hurt behind and embrace love, and that theme never gets old.
5.0 out of 5 stars Another great book 15 May 2017

I really enjoy this author. She has an excellent way of putting together a moving story with plenty of excitement and this was no exception. I really enjoyed watching the relationship between Kate and Taylor develops. If I had one complaint it would be that some of the actual development of the true, deep relationship isn't covered. Why not share a little more of the action that would have taken place during that time of growth and development? All in all though I truly enjoyed the book and will absolutely read more by Lindzee Armstrong.

Another great book from Lindzee Armstrong. this is a book from a series, but great as a stand alone book. This particular book was more emotionally gripping than others that I have read from the same author. This book deals with guilt, grief, addiction and mental abuse. The book is very well written, and is emotionally charged. I enjoyed the book, and I would certainly recommend it to my friends.
