This book taught me so much about stress and how to manage it. I find myself under extreme stress a lot and now I understand that a lot of it is self inflicted. I was always trying to get away from stress and having absolutely no stress in my life. What this book taught me was that stress is a constant in everyone's life and by running from it we only compound it.
I loved the 7 day start up plan and the rules for stress management. The book is worth buying just for those two chapters alone. They made a huge difference to my life straight away. You'll be amazed at how such simple changes have such a big impact.
My problem was that I always put other people first and reading this book not only helped me manage my stress but look after myself better too.
The author has a great understanding of the triggers to and ways of resolving stress. The book is written in a very accessible and very understanding style. She understands that stress is relative and what might cause me stress might seem insignificant to someone else. This is a welcome change to the "suck it up" mentality that prevails in many self help book, particularly those aimed at men. The difference in results is tangible, you really see it and feel it.
I'd highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to introduce more peace and calm I to their lives.
